So USA Today thinks there are too many whites in basketball?? This has to be a parody.

So this really stupid writer wants to force black high quality basketball players to go to college in Wisconsin as opposed to the school of their choice. Further, they would have to play basketball for the school. This sounds a little like slavery to me. And a little racist. Who is this bigot that is trying to force black students athletes to go to a school that they do not want to attend.

The left is starting to eat their own. UW’s crazy leftists rival that of Berkley, Columbia, etc.

USA Today accuses UW Badgers of racism for having “too many white guys” on their basketball team.

The money quote is near the end of the article where it explains that UW recruits from within the state, mostly, and the state is only 6+% minority. I’d add that if you took Milwaukee out of here, that percentage would drop percipitously.

FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.

I’ve watched Georgetown basketball over the years and I don’t think I’ve seen more than one or two white players total who ever played in the starting lineup. Does that mean current Coach John Thompson III and his father John, who was there before him, hate(d) recruiting white players? This whole thing is a silly argument. Coaches all have a particular system and they find players who fit their scheme, regardless of color. Don’t kid yourself that USA Today wasn’t trying to send a veiled political message. Wisconsin gets only white players and look who’s the governor of the state? Why that would be Scott Walker, a presumptive presidential candidate. See the connection. UW doesn’t want to get black players is what the writer wants the reader to assume so he can equate the university and the state,as an extension, is a racist hotbed. Maybe a farfetched theory on my part, but I’m at the point where I am completely suspicious of anything written, or said on radio and TV by the MSM.

I was telling my wife last night if Wisconsin won, we would be hearing the race card. They lost and here it is. .

And that most of Wisconsin’s players actually come from Wisconsin.

There were usually 3 white guys and 2 black guys on the floor. My math says 40%... blacks are overrepresented. 60% whites is about right. The real question is where are the hispanics and Asians?

Not to mention there was one Ho-Chunk, point guard Bronson Koenig, 24, from LaCrosse.

My grandson runs on a local AAU track team. He is the only white kid and they always put him dead center in all the team pictures. One of his teammates captioned their team picture last year as “The Black Sheep and their One White Peep”. Pretty funny.

What a F'n DIM-BULB Tim Graham of USA Today is.

The question he's posing has about as much room in sports as asking how come so FEW Black QB's win Superbowls?

Quick Answer:

As of 2014, TWO black quarterbacks have won the Super Bowl.
The first was Doug Williams while playing for Washington in 1988,
and the second was Russell Wilson while playing for Seattle in 2014.

I BELIEVE sports is about SUPERIOR MENTAL ACUITY and SUPERIOR ATHLETIC ABILITY... not SKIN COLOR.

Good post.

Universities have a right to recruit from all over, true but I’m going to pull for those with more local talent. That said, some Universities have put up great teams but may not have great resources of local talent. Say, someone like Utah.

Nevertheless, some don’t have access to the cream of the crop.

Duke used to be the “white guy” team.

And Kentucky and I don't mean the '60s, I think they had some sort of team like that in the '80s as well.

I was telling my wife last night if Wisconsin won, we would be hearing the race card. They lost and here it is. .

It's funny, because the Kentucky player who sparked the comeback and made the difference was freshman guard Grayson Allen (#3), who happened to be white.
