Note too how the cop goes back to pick up his taser and then plants it next to the guy, trying to build some kind of on-the-fly justification.
How was someone like this hired in the first place?

He wouldn’t have gotten away with it. Forensic medicine can tell both where a person was shot from and from how far away, and it was pretty obvious that the officer was under no threat. However, the video at least means that the trial is going to be very short!
Notice the first thing he does after he shoots the guy, 8 times I count, is look directly at the camera.

Reading the story, I see Tim Scott like Obama in other cases, did not hesitate to weigh in even before all the facts are in.

Yeah, if you watch the video at CNN or the NYT website, you can see that the cop goes back to get the tazer, then goes back over to the guy and drops it near him.
CNN is trying to ramp this into a race war as usual!

Probably overkill, yes. But some objective statements still need to be presented.
If that object was the taser, just because it was where they had been together to start doesn’t mean Scott did NOT take it; he might just have dropped it immediately.
As for making hay over “8 shots”, it seems he only hit with 1. I can’t believe Scott kept jogging the way he did with multiple shots in him. We’ll see, but “8 shots” does not mean he was full of 8 bullets.
This has been all over our local news. I don’t think this will blow up because there is no division among the people to play off. Everyone is in agreement so the race baiters have no where to go.
One: If this is true, then we have an exploitable incident (by Leftists standards) for both black rage AND anti-cop sentiment, which could cause further unrest in either direction;
Two: Is there even the smallest chance this video footage was manufactured to create such a crisis, given contemporary video technology?
Three: Is there any credence to the possibility this may have been a good shoot?

You do not know if it is the taser. Probably, but not absolutely. Maybe he had some other equipment he dropped and had to pick up.
Police shoot 12 year old boys in parks, unarmed men in Walmarts, authorized concealed carry people at Nevada Costco, he most likely would have walked on this absent the cell phone video. After all, he planted evidence to make it look like the victim was armed with his taser. Claim 'fear for my life' and that would be all it took. And anyone who doesn't believe that is just fooling themselves.
