Even though they like to mock conservatives for being anti-science, apparently basic chemistry is hard for the media.
The CBS Evening News on April 6, mixed up its chemical formulas during a story about a tragic case of carbon monoxide poisoning.

I had to laugh when Domino Sugar was trying to position themselves as green and enviro-friendly and labeled their bags of sugar as “carbon free”.
Those of us who did not sleep through high-school chemistry were rolling in the aisles over that one!
There ya go. Liblogic 101!
Next Up
Free Range Sugar!!!
Idiots will see the formula for carbon dioxide and think it is deadly.
Later, they will see the same formula in the context of global warming, and think that it is poisonous AND is causing the seas to rise.
And no, I'm not being entirely sarcastic....
Hopefully the exploits of the late Edward M Kennedy would feature prominently in any future expose on the hazards associated with “di-hydrogen monoxide”.
This was no accidental mix up of a subscript digit. It was completely intentional for just the reason you state.
Liberal arts education nowadays completely ignore the sciences, facts are troublesome things to liberals. They rather have everything fungable
Well, maybe using liblogic, glow-bull baking is also making CO levels rise as well as C levels. They ain’t rocket surgeons.
In the local paper here in WA state, there was an AP story about the STILL declining numbers of the spotted owl here in the PacNW.
The EPA just recently declared, “Our bad, it wasn’t the logging that was killing them off, it was their more aggressive cousin, the Barred Owl.”
And they wonder why there are so many AGW ‘deniers’.
The Spotted Owl killed communities all over WA state and OR. Whole towns shut down. Families were made destitute. Thousands lost their jobs.
Then the article ends with the lead on the very last line - they are taking away local EPA power to grant exemptions to species protection orders where people are severely impacted by the action.
So, just to tally the ignorance and arrogance here:
1. Wrong about the science - completely.
2. Others were both right on the science and even more right about the economic impact of the original 1990 order.
3. Now that they know it’s the Barred Owl, they are now out to kill it. No kidding - they are starting to kill them off as an invasive species.
4. Despite the wanton economic and emotional destruction the Spotted Owl order wrought, they are taking away the power of local authorities to suspend other like orders that pose the same severe economic impact.
These clowns remind me of the Brown Shirts - Martin Bormann’s crew - from Germany in the 1930’s. Wrong as hell, but it doesn’t matter - do what we say or asses will sting. (The Germans used to literally beat other German bureaucrats that didn’t fall in line with thin wooden dowels on the ass and back until they did.)
Today, they just trash your career - Menendez comes to mind of late on the Iran treaty debacle. UVA, for just existing, gets hit with a complete BS rape story. Nobody fired at Rolling Stone (you don’t fire people who do what you told them to do in the first place).
Malignant stupidity is even stupider than accidental stupidity.
Agree with you both.
This wasn’t an accident. They know full well the average numb nuts viewer will remember only two things:
The word poisonous and the term CO2.
Malignant stupidity is even stupider than accidental stupidity.
Good one! I’m going to use that next time I have to talk to a libtard.
Sadly, FOX made the same mistake when they first ran the story. “CO2” was in the scrolling ticker bar when they first reported on the story. Hopefully they fixed it.
CO2 deprivation is the normal killer when it comes to generators.
Does anyone know why Starbucks does not have carbonated drinks? Because the carbonation is CO2 and that causes global warming.
Want to torment a lefty? Tell him his soda and beer has fizz because of CO2.
