It does seem kind of biased of the news report not to point out that this is basically a nine day Jewish religious retreat during a holiday with special requirements.

As an Orthodox Jew, I can tell you that Kosher for Passover food is even more expensive than Kosher food the rest of the year due to even more exacting requirements to eliminate even the slightest trace of any leavened products. And that applies when you buy in the local supermarket. So, providing a full menu in a resort hotel, which requires shipping massive amounts of food from other places, adds to an already expensive component of what the patrons are paying for.
