Yes, but carrying out the sentence is at the discretion of the feds. There over 60 on fed death row. McVeigh’s four years was very short compared to others.

Appeals, as I understand it, are not re-arguments of what went on at trial, but appeals about decisions the judge made, say about allowing certain evidence, or about the instructions to the jury, etc. And, yes, it will be dragged out by defense lawyers as long as possible, right till the minute they push the injection into his worthless veins.

Guilty on all 30 counts means the jury found that he was responsible for the capital murder all four victims, not just the murder of that poor little boy Martin Richard who died as a result of the bomb that LOSER #2 carried and planted. That means that the jury totally rejected the stupid defense of “he was just under the influence of his big brother”!
Maybe this is a good sign that the jury will not show any mercy during the penalty phase and give that barbaric subhuman POS a death sentence.
Jaysus - all charges - if this were China, he’d have been taken out back, shot, and his family billed the labor charge and cost of the bullet.
Yes, even tho’ many in Mass. are against death penalty, there are a lot of people really fed up and angry about this event and a strong current in the population that is not Lib. Indignity at attacking Boston could pervade and jurors may rule for death penalty.
I wonder if the judge is trying to get the death penalty aspect resolved before the Marathon on April 20th.
My only question is why it took them so long to reach a verdict, when even his attorneys acknowledged Tsarnaev’s guilt.

As soon as he had recovered from his injuries he should have been publicly hung, drawn, and quartered. The pieces of his body put on display outside 4 prominent mosques, his head stuffed and placed on a pike for the presiding officers of the US Senate to use as a scepter.
Instead he’ll be eating taxpayer’s food for the next several years while his fangirls beg for clemency.

It’s simpler than that- McVeigh ended all appeals on his own. When appeals end, they schedule the injection.

The jury wanted to deliberate long enough to get the free lunch provided by the courthouse. (It was actually a lot of charges to vote on in the jury room.)
A few acquaintances of mine have done hard time. It was not a pleasant experience at all. I hope he gets executed and I also hopes he converts like Karla Faye Tucker did before the end.
I hope they weren’t sexually assaulted. We need to put a stop to that.
