I don’t agree he’s trying to create a socialist state. None of these taxes and fees are going to impact the rich to any serious degree. The wealthy will be fine. The ones hurt are people in the middle class who are trying to build wealth. Our meager savings and investments will be ate up by government.

FR is small, a tempest in a teapot. Probably nothing at all.

The wealthy will be fine PERSONALLY speaking, but their role as a huge customer of services provided by poorer people will be hurt.

This is something that progressives just cannot grok, neither can they grasp it. In hating the “obscene luxury” of the rich, they fail to notice that this luxury seldom just sits still in the economy. I wish I were rich, but if I have to be poor then let my best customers be rich.

You see this page?

https://secure.freerepublic.com/donate/scoreboard

THIS is the ONLY THING that will make Free Republic keep going or stop! It won’t be the FCC or Net Neutrality regulations.

Obama don’t need no stinking stamps. He just signs executive orders that become de facto laws.

The only way Free Republic will close is if you don’t pay attention to the following page and do something about it ...

True enough. FR is not positioned as a commercial news entity. It is not another Fox. It falls below the radar of most progressive policy makers.

Additional taxes are the least onerous part of these regulations.

The true tragedy lies in the control over free speech that's being given to the cretins in DC.

You don't understand. Let me explain it to you....

"It's not the right time."
"There is nothing we can do."
"If we try to do anything, the government might shut down."
"The media will criticize us if we do anything."
"Let's wait until we have Congress AND the Presidency. Then we can do something about it."

See...It's not that hard to understand. Once you repeat this mantra over and over enough times you will be able to use it as a response to anything your constituents ask you to do.

Of course, this is only the current mantra. When we didn't control the Senate it was a little different. If we ever control the Presidency it will be a little different like from 2000-2002.....

"Now that we have full control, we would love to get to those issues but these issues are more important and we wouldn't want to lose our mandate and all this good will we have."

If the founding fathers could hypothetically be revived they’d be laughing in scorn that we’ve done far worse to ourselves than King George did to them. Maybe the only evil that has been staved off is the quartering of soldiers in homes, and American progressives can live with that because they have umpty ump excuses to send the SWAT teams now.

This is one nice thing about Cruz. Not all his answers are the best but he doesn’t care who thinks he is a bull in a china shop. Some errors are vastly preferable to utter paralysis.

These new taxes on the productive private sector taxpayers (you and me) will go to>>>>

#1 hire more useless eater Federale employees with most or all being affirmative action babies

#2 to give Obama voters free high speed internet connections and free ObamaFones that are smart phones not lowly cellular phones

Ultimately, meaning several years out, they’ll end anonymity on the Internet which will end public comments; then they’ll impose fines and fees to the server operator that will cause sites like FreeRepulic to be forced to charge a hefty fee to access the site. When no one wants to pay $100.00 a month to access a site...it disappears into the ash bin of history.

Pretty simple actually.
