The five Republicans ready to take on Hillary Clinton in 2016
The London Telegraph ^ | April 11, 2015 | Matt K. Lewis

Posted on 04/11/2015 1:47:13 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

With Hillary Clinton due to declare her presidential intentions on Sunday, we look at the Republicans most likely to block her route to the White House.

In what is widely perceived as a mere formality on her way to the Democratic nomination (and possibly, the White House), Hillary Clinton is due to officially announce her second candidacy for US president on Sunday.

Underscoring the perfunctory nature of this announcement, Mrs Clinton is expected to launch her candidacy via a video message on social media, which – if true – stands as a stark contrast to the high-profile announcement speeches delivered by Republicans Ted Cruz and Rand Paul – the only two candidates to have officially announced for president so far.

Mrs Clinton is hoping to make history by shattering that glass ceiling and becoming the first female president. To get there, she'll also have to buck history. It's difficult for a political party to win three consecutive presidential elections – a trend she'll have to overcome on her way back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Moreover, there's an old saying about American politics that "Republicans fall in line, while Democrats fall in love." Democrats have traditionally been more prone to factor passion and excitement into their selection process, while Republicans have been more businesslike in their tendency to settle for the "safe" establishment candidates who wait their turn. Barack Obama was the daring choice (compared to Hillary Clinton) in 2008, while Republican John McCain was "the next guy in line" that same year, as was Mitt Romney in 2012.

But fortunately for Mrs Clinton, that historical cliché appears to be in jeopardy this year....

Mrs. Clinton should be up on charges of treason by 2016.

From your keyboard to God's ears.

And so should many others, from Obama on down, Democrat and Republican.

“Don’t underestimate Ted Cruz. The fiery Republican senator from Texas, 44, launched his presidential campaign with a deeply religious speech at the world’s largest evangelical Christian university. He is incredibly smart and reflects the conservative base’s id better than any other candidate. He is adored by the Tea Party for stridently opposing President Barack Obama on issues including guns, abortion, immigration to healthcare”.

Just remember her debate for the Senate seat, she coward as her challenger(Forgot his name) walked to shake her hand and the media flipped out. They said he was threatening and scary. Be ready for this narrative the whole campaign.

I understand how it is that Hillary is just assumed to be the D nominee.

But she was so assumed in 2008, too, and it didn’t happen.
It very well may not happen again.

We saw that the D party didn’t want her in 2008, even choosing a totally unknown person with zero actual qualifying experience, no verifiable citizenship, and certainly no constitutional qualification for the job. That was, by any objective standard, a really long reach to avoid having to nominate Hillary.

And her stock in the D party since then has only gone down.

We cannot assume that the D nominee will be Hillary.
We have to be prepared for someone else .....

Be Prepared!

It’s going to Walker vs O’Malley in the end.

Isn't it amazing what this woman gets away with? When that email scandal came out I said what is the use? Republicans will do absolutely nothing about it and in a few weeks it will be all but forgotten, and here we are a few weeks later and she is announcing her run for POTUS as if the email scandal and her 9 billion other scandals never even happened. The press in this country as well as the Republican party can KMA..That means KISS MY ASS!! Benghazi, IRS, releasing 5 Taliban commanders, on and on and on and on and on and this party does absolutely NOTHING and incredibly they control the house and Senate!!

And by the way: WHY is a far leftist like Jeb Bush being called a Republican? Right there shows us how far gone the party is. This is a PUNK who gave Hitlery Clinton the "Liberty medal" on the one year anniversary of the Benghazi murders. Imagine if you lost a son or father or brother in that attack, and on the one year anniversary you see this: BTW, Look at the smug look on her face:

JEB BUSH TO AWARD HILLARY 'LIBERTY MEDAL' ON EVE OF BENGHAZI ANNIVERSARY

O’Malley...He’ll easily pick up the women’s vote. Then it’s all about pandering.

She (and her base) probably expects the Electoral College to move by acclamation.

If it remains five Republicans against Hillary, the end result will be Jeb against Hillary, which might as well be Hillary with Jeb as her running mate. The two are essentially interchangeable, but Hillary has the pop star thing going for her. If we could dump three of the other Republicans before that dog and pony show allows Jeb to win the primary, Cruz or Walker could beat Jeb, and a Hillary/Jeb ticket.

“What this effectively means is that, rather than having to persuade a large number of donors to invest a few thousand dollars into a presidential campaign, candidates just have to find one billionaire to effectively bankroll them.”

Mr. Lewis may feel foolish for writing this (but I doubt he will) when the fundraising reports come out and it is shown that Mr. Cruz’ average donation is less than $1000.
