There is little hope for the R’s.

The machine has decided. Unless HRC drops and froths at the mouth, the media will coronate her.

That is the best that we can hope for.

“If Walker is the nominee, I’d bet good money that the unions will make it their mission in life to deliver Ohio and the other midwestern states to her.”

Which is a strong argument for EC reform in Ohio. Electoral Votes should be apportioned by the vote in each congressional district; plus the two senatorial equivalents cast for the the winner of the popular vote in the state. That would go a long way to restoring the validity of the vote, not just in Ohio, but across the nation.

It’s time to dump the ‘winner take all’ model...

“I’d love it, but, don’t you think two Hispanics at the head of the ticket could be “too much” for most folks? Just wondering.”

Fair question. The concerns are well-founded. It seems that people with a ‘characteristic’ often turn hard-left when something related to that characteristic becomes an issue. Say what you might about Kay Bailey Hutchinson overall, for example, but on military matters, she was top-grade material. Then Tailhook happens and she’s right there with Barbara Boxer.

Rubio was presidential grade material, but then he lost it on Amnesty and nearly dumped 30 million new Democrats in this country.

Probably similar examples with black conservatives, although they haven’t been as prominent. Dr. Carson does come to mind - I have walked the streets where he spent his career (JHU, in Baltimore), I can fully understand what goes through his mind on guns. You see some Aimish, maybe 4 of them, on the sidewalk in front of you - you really don’t want them also having a gun...so he turns left on that issue (not a good one to turn left on, at all), but otherwise seems (or seemed) like a good conservative, but albeit, unready for prime time on many issues.

So, given that, Cruz has to HOLD HIS GROUND on Amnesty and Open Borders. If he doesn’t, people will think he’s going Rubio on us...and he’ll likely be finished. Having a second Hispanic on the ballot certainly doesn’t help there.

On the other hand, if he does hold his ground, most of the country won’t even look at him as Hispanic...they’ll look at him as the closed thing to a conservative that has ever run and had a decent shot. Martinez, because she hasn’t been out front and center, will always be looked at as Hispanic. I think the media will go after her more so than Cruz, just to give our side doubts. But being a VP, she will definitely have some room to play the “good cop”.

This could be a lot of fun...and Martinez may help a lot if The Hag chooses one of the Castro’s to run with (which will likely be the case).

Never heard of this Castro guy, and Hillary would be utterly sliced and diced in a debate with Cruz.

We don't have debates in presidential politics. We have circuses where a moderator asks a question, candidate A gives a speech, then candidate B gives a speech, then candidate A gives another speech.

“I’m wondering; would that Ticket, first woman POTUS and first Latino VEEP, be unbeatable? And, if that is going to be the Dem Ticket, what can we do to stop them from winning.”

Cruz/Paul offsets this. What Paul brings to the ticket is he has street cred in the black community. Plus he appeals to the 20 somethings. Cruz offsets Castro and he brings back the Conservative votes that stayed home in 2012. Also, with the Church under attack, any person that says Amen at the table who voted Democrat will come back to the Republicans.

Hillary appeals to the NAGS, effeminate men and the anti American audience.

So, two years after Saddam Hussein hangs, dumbass Americans in 2008 elect a guy named Hussein as president. Wouldn’t that be like electing a guy named Hitler two years after der fuhrer died in the bunker?

So now, the dems are going to run a guy named Castro for veep? It’s like we’re living in a bad acid trip or something.

Ted Cruz is my Senator and my choice for 2016, but, many don’t consider him a “real” Hispanic because he does not speak Spanish, was born in Canada and is ANTI-Amnesty.

And because she is a demonically controlled, Marxist witch who would finish destroying this nation, I say to you and the rest of the world, WITH NO APOLOGIES OR POLITICAL CORRECTNESS..... that is what I'm hoping for; a brain aneurysm about June of 2016 when it would be too late for the DemocRATS to put together a winning campaign for another candidate. And please folks, no posts to me conveying your phony "that is horrible thing to say" sentiments. Yes, it is horrible..... she is a horrible person.

(Wow! Who pissed in my Post Toasties this morning?)

EVs awarded by Congressional Districts: I’ve been encouraging FReepers in Blue and Purple states to contact their state legislators and push for that.

You are dead-on per hitlery.

I also suspect, just like in 08, even the dems do not relish more klintoon horsehockey and dishonesty. Hitlery is a pisspoor campaigner, regardless of how much money she spends. She will not be elected and probably not even nominated.

There is no such things as an “unbeatable” Dem ticket this time around.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind Warren jumping in because as the far left radical she is would mean the GOP could nominate the best “conservative” candidate because given a clear, distinct choice of a liberal and a conservative, the conservative always wins, and usually big.

Also, Warren would just get added to a list that shows a law should be passed banning any future people from getting the Presidential nomination from either party: Dukakis, Kerry, Romney, Warren, etc.

One name that is not coming up because it is widely assumed he will NOT run with Clinton in the race is Andrew Cuomo. I still believe if Hillary polls weak and the other challengers can’t take advantage, Cuomo would jump in at some point.

Cuomo/Warren would probably be the strongest ticket the Dems could throw.

If it’s Hillary vrs one of our conservatives (Cruz, Walker, Rubio, etc), she’ll get pummeled in the debates.

Yeah, Elizabeth Warren concerns me more than Hillary too. The main reason is likability, which Hillary completely lacks but which Warren has lots of.

If conservatives start nominating people based on fear, we might as well hang it up now. It continues to stun me that there are still those of us who believe identity politics would work for us. How many liberal women voted for Sarah Palin? How many liberal blacks supported Herman Cain, Allen West, etc.? How many Hispanics NOW back Ted Cruz? They are all mocked and derided as being not really female/black/Hispanic.

Just give me the most solid, capable conservative. That man is Ted Cruz, I believe.

Wake up. And find some guts. God is in His heaven and He is in control of world leaders.

An unbeatable ticket would be Hillary and Jeb.
Doesn’t matter if Jeb runs for the GOP or VP under Hillary.
