“I’m a straight, white, Christian female. If anyone wants to refuse to serve me for any or all of those reasons, that’s his right to do so.”

No, it’s not. We have had both federal and state anti-discrimination laws on the books for decades that make that kind of stuff illegal.

Now, the federal laws don’t cover sexual orientation, and not all of the state laws do either. So, in that case, you might get away with making a statement like this business owner did. However, it’s simply untrue that “refusing to do business with anyone” is a right that we have anymore. Go ahead and try telling someone you won’t serve them because they are black (or white), or female (or male), and see how fast the law smacks you upside the head.

Just because the government claims a person doesn’t have the right to so doesn’t mean that a person doesn’t have that right. What happened to freedom of association? A person should be free to serve or not serve whomever they wish without government intervention. Of course the government made it illegal, but the government makes many things illegal that probably should not be made illegal. My comment was not on the legality of such actions, but on a person’s freedom. Stuff like this just gives the government more and more power over our lives.

This is all just an effort to establish “behavior” as an immutable trait equal to skin color or national origin.

IOW pushing the myth of “born that way”.

Discrimination against people who have sex with farm animals?

Marriage swingers?

leather fetishes?

Married man with his mistress?

any of those ok to not want in your business?

This is about legislating normal a sexual fetish.

footnote: notice how the drive by media is trying to MANDATE parents HAVE TO be supportive of offspring who engage is fetish behavior? Parents who kick out college kids who engage in the behavior are not allowed the choice per the sex obsessed CNN, FNC, MSNBC, CBS, ABC.
