Woo hoo!! Our 2nd quarter FReepathon is well underway!!
Please get your donations in early so we can wrap this baby up within 30 days.
We need your continuing support to keep FR on the air.
FR is funded solely by contributions made by the liberty loving patriots who enjoy and use it.
We are beholden to no political party.
No advertisers, no outsiders, no sugar daddies, no corporate string pullers.
This means no commercial ads. No annoying pop-ups. No ad tracking. No mail campaigns. No spam. No one trying to control us.
Definitely no government subsidies or tax breaks.
We are self-funded, fiercely independent and enjoy our freedom to speak plainly in the support of God, family, country, liberty!!
But we cannot exist without you.
Every donation counts no matter how big or small. If you can donate $5, $10, $20, $100 or more, it would be greatly appreciated.
Your loyal support makes Free Republic possible and your continuing participation makes FR the number one pro-life, pro-family, pro-small government, pro-defense conservative forum on the Net!!
And we're going to need FR now more than ever to combat the current crop of Marxists and progressives who have infested our government and public institutions and who are dead set on destroying the final remnants of our cherished constitution and our precious God-given liberty!!

Make it a monthly if you can. We have some very generous FReeper sponsors kicking in an extra ten bucks for every new monthly signed up and we now have 15 new monthlies signed up so far this quarter
Or send in a hundred dollars or more per quarter and join I_be_tc's growing list of 300 Club patriots. I_be_tc sends in $100 per quarter and challenges 300 others to do the same. And we have received 59 donations of $100 or more so far this quarter. If we could get 300 FReepers to send in $100 per quarter, these FReepathons would complete much faster.
Thank you all very much!!
God bless.
THAT one is too true!
You’re most welcome, my friends.
I forgot how much people like movie reviews.
Glad you liked them.
Thank you California, Kansas and Tennessee!
LOLOLOL!! That’s excellent.
"For all the 4th Generation of War intellectuals running around today saying that the nature of war has fundamentally changed, the tactics are wholly new, etc., I must respectfully say,
Not really:
Alexander the Great would not be in the least bit perplexed by the enemy that we face right now in Iraq, and our leaders going into this fight do their troops a disservice by not studying studying, vice just reading the men who have gone before us. We have been fighting on this planet for 5,000 years and we should take advantage of their experience.
Winging it and filling body bags as we sort out what works reminds us of the moral dictates and the cost of competence in our profession."

Thanks for the reviews, TOL. I’m a fan of Jason Statham, so this movie will be on my list. :)
"You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for five years because they didn't wear a veil.
You know, guys like that ain't got no manhood left anyway.
So it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them.
Actually it's quite fun to fight them, you know. It's a hell of a hoot.
It's fun to shoot some people. I'll be right up there with you.
I like brawling."
Marine General James MattisPanel discussion in San Diego, California (1 February 2005) as quoted in "General: It's 'fun to shoot some people'" CNN (4 February 2005)(For a more contextualized explanation of General Mattis' remarks, see this essay by one of the Marines who served under Mattis: "Breaking the Warrior Code" The American Spectator (February 11, 2005) by John R. Yes, Statham is one of my faves too. In this case, when I read the reviews, several of
them opined that Burt Reynolds was a bit long in the tooth to perform the moves that
Jason Statham executed so professionally. The guy is like lightning.
Those same people said that Reynolds’ performance was better, but I don’t know how
it could have been. A lot of old guys still have a lot of steam, but I think old Burt is
learning his limitations in the tough-guy category.
"When future generations ask why America is still free and the
heyday of Al Qaeda and their terrorist allies was counted in days
rather than in centuries as the extremists themselves predicted,
our hometown heroes-soldiers, sailors, airmen, Coast Guardsmen,
and Marines-can say,
because of me and people like me who risked all to protect millions
who will never know my name.Marine Major General John F. Kelly

Reynolds is 79 now, and has had some serious problems with his health. I don’t think that he was ever in the kind of shape that Stratham is in, however. Also, Stratham is much more believable.
"Those with less of a sense of service to the nation never understand
it when men and women of character step forward to look
danger and adversity straight in the eye, refusing to blink,
or give ground, even to their own deaths.
The protected cant begin to understand the price paid
so they and their families can sleep safe and free at night.Marine Major General John F. Kelly

You cannot allow any of your people to avoid the brutal facts. If they start living in a dream world, its going to be bad.
