I call BS. I read their report. They assume an average family with 2 kids earning $29,700. According to TurboTax 2014, they'd receive $6,781 in rebates from uncle sugar. Let's be generous and say they pay FICA on the whole thing, reduces it by $2,213. If they spend it all on taxable items at 5% sales tax, that's another $1,485. So in actual financial terms they're still netting $3,083.

And then there's non-cash benefits: Section 8 housing, TANF, WIC, obamacare and the rest. Does this lefty think tank think we're all stupid???(don't answer that)

I sent this analysis to a bunch of these people, if I ever hear back I'll be happy to share.
