The Eagles have reached an agreement in principle with quarterback Tim Tebow, according to multiple media reports
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, who first reported the news, said that Tebow will be in Philadelphia Monday to sign the contract. Glazer also reported that the Eagles are convinced he has improved since the last time he was in the NFL after spending time with his quarterback coach Tom House.

Or just time. Defenses tend to get better as the season wears on. The season usually starts with crazy offensive stats and 3 or 4 QB “on pace” to beat a couple of records, then mid October hits and the defenses gel and nobody breaks those records. QBs don’t really do much leading of the defense.
It’s a 53 man roster.
It was Tebow’s second season. No luck, the defense got their act together.

The Pats SAY they wanted to keep him. But they didn’t. Like the man said “never mind words, actions speak louder than”.
Actually if they never start it indeed does mean they’re not NFL caliber QBs. You can maybe look at guys that miss the league entirely and say they could have the talent but things didn’t give them the shot. If they’re suiting up every day in practice, being seen by the coaches and STILL not being given the job they don’t have the talent.
The team he was on won more games than they lost. It’s a 53 man roster, teams win, people don’t.
I’d like to be wrong. He seems to be a great guy. He’s fun to watch. But the stats are in, and every one of them points to one simple obvious conclusion: Tebow is not an NFL caliber QB.
What a great inspirational story if he succeeds. I hate the Eagles but I will root for them if he is their starring quarterback.
I think the people defending Tebow’s performance at Denver either know little about football or didn’t watch the games. Did he win? Yes. Was it painful to watch? Very. Did he have a good game against Pittsburgh in the playoffs? Yes. And got absolutely dismantled by New England a week later.
He WAS a great leader on the field.
There are a lot of guarterbacks who have GREAT mechanics, but terrible leadership abilities. A great leader inspires those around him to be better.
Interviews of former teammates of Tebow all say high things of the man. I look forward to seeing if the last 2 years of work have improved his mechanics. If so, I believe he could be a viable QB.
Remember, there was another QB who spent some time outside the NFL, before making it big.

I think with his faith and his underdog history people identify with him, so when he fails it’s very personal and stings. Plus of course there’s that whole Christian persecution narrative, and a lot of people like to feel their group is being picked on by the world, and he can’t be a bad QB and persecuted, so clearly he’s a good QB. Just don’t look too closely at the stats... or the film... or the career of people that acquired him.
True and false. He's no Tom Brady or Manning...but he's certainly good enough to be a 2nd or 3rd stringer. Have you seen the talent on these NFL rosters? Of 32 starters...only a handful are superstars and only about 1/2 are decent. He is certainly better than most 2nd and 3rd stringers...and his record proves that. To say that the only reason he wasn't on a roster is because he wasn't good enough is not telling the whole story. There are a LOT of guys that are on rosters that are a LOT worse than him. Just look at JAX....

He probably is good enough to be a replacement guy, but that’s where the cult becomes a problem. Coaches HATE QB controversies more than just about anything. And any time you’ve got Tebow on the bench every incomplete pass by your starter becomes a controversy because he’s got all these personal fans. We saw it for a season and a half in Denver until Fox finally gave up and put him in even though Orton was actually playing pretty well, unfortunately Orton wasn’t getting the wins and Fox eventually skipped his 2nd stringer Quinn to put Tebow in the game. It’s interesting to note that those 13 games are the only time in his career Tebow has ever been higher than 3rd on the depth chart.
If he didn’t bring so much noise with him (totally not his fault) he’d have probably spent the last 2 years in the league somewhere. Probably riding the pine, but hey riding the pine isn’t that bad a thing. A lot of guys have had long lucrative careers on the bench, some of them even get Superbowl rings. He could easily be Matt Flynn, if his followers wouldn’t be so vocal in their lack of acceptance of his limited ability.
I do not know if he honed his skill to the point that he makes the cut. I am happy to see someone with his work ethic get a chance. That is at least one place he historically beat Sanchez. This football season is shaping up to be entertaining, especially at the QB position.
