I’d love to see DNA comparisons to modern salamanders - there might be some surprises.

I don’t know if evolution theory is correct. There seems to be some sense in it.
What does It matter how God decided to go about things. The fact is he did. That’s good enough for me.
Computers have evolved tremendously from the 15 meg piece of garbage I first bought. But the makers never changed. Perhaps one day when computers have consciousness and we are no longer around, they will attribute their changes to evolution :)

The sort of salamander “evolution” seen here would be like what Darwin saw with the finches, natural variations around a kind. It’s trivial.

No offense, but in line with evolutionary theory if something is already well adapted to its environment then natural selection would weed out mutations in favor of the predominant form. The mutations only have an advantage when the environment changes sufficiently to become a disadvantage for the predominant form.

Even the most staunch evolutionism champions are confessing that something a lot more creative than Darwinism is needed. If you are an animal or plant, Darwinism will far more likely kill you off than do anything else. So something else, very vaguely unspecified, is assumed.

For a scenario like that to work, your likely mutations and your requirements would have to line up very well.
It sounds positively providential, in fact. There really is no escape along those lines.

“I’d love to see DNA comparisons to modern salamanders...there might be some surprises”.
Today’s modern Salamanders like motorcycles. They are also dog lovers and Doberman whisperers. DNA shows a propensity to Alice Cooper songs and snakes. BIG snakes. GIANT, BIG snakes that sometime like to play hide and seek in the walls of their home. A wicked good sense of humor coupled with a sassiness is how the modern Salamander rolls today.
