Repeating something I said on another thread a couple weeks back.
There’s an interesting dynamic shaping up between Cruz and Walker. Cruz, who is the expert debater, goes in for the frontal assault on the points being raised/presented.
Walker goes for the flank, hitting on exposed points that are not really front and center.
Together, whether intentional or not, this dynamic is very, very effective at advancing the overall Conservative position.
Well to be accurate she backed Crispy Kreme and Mittens. Now I guess she’s backing Mitt Walker.
It’s great that he has come around to where I have been on this issue for years. My concern is would he follow through if elected.
We’ve been lied to before. Remember that GWB was saying “no amnesty” when he ran. Then he said “see you at the signing” when McCain/Kennedy was in Congress, that McCain said wasn’t amnesty.
The dissonance comes from first recognizing his articulation, then projecting that to mean he won’t revert to prior stances after election.
While I am encouraged by his articulation of the issue, I am concerned about the 11th hour conversion. (And I am not a “concern troll” - just being a student of politician history LOL)
I’m not saying I totally trust him. What I’m saying is that he might articulate the issue so well that the average US citizen might FINALLY see the light about what’s destroying the US and their well being. If that happens, DC might actually stop traitoring us.
I really, really, really hope he is not just saying this to get elected and then turn on us like GWB did.
I would love to elect a President who actually stands for the citizens and the rule of law.
Without that we will lose the country, if we haven’t already.....
A liberal at my work is complaining that his wife with a biomedical degree can’t get a job because of H1B Visas, this is a pocket book issue. His family has 80K in student loans.
He said if he had to vote for someone and one supported the current H1B and one didn’t, even though he abhors the GOP, he might pull the lever, but otherwise he would stay home. He wouldn’t vote to support the current H1B system.
Your thought is quite interesting.
It illustrates why many Freepers don’t like Gov Walker simply because he doesn’t constantly throw out masses of red meat. It is that constant outpouring of red meat that makes Senator Cruz less acceptable to many conservatives.
Although both are good conservatives their personna controls perception. My perception is they are emerging in popularity. To succeed they must capture the money that seems to still be up for grabs
That's half of the establishment wing of the party....
“Walker is great. Romney is better. Blah, blah, blah.” - Ann Coulter
WTF happened to Ann?
Scott has a problem.
He states his immigration policy has changed.
What do you do if you want to protect the jobs of U. S. Citizens? Dont you send back the people who are here illegally holding down jobs?
In this video clip his old (2013) policy is aired in a second video clip. He backs illegals staying in the U. S. if they pay a fine.
It is also mentioned that he favored the McCain/Kennedy immigration bill. (You know, amnesty but not an amnesty) He acknowledges that.
Then in this (03/01/2015) clip, Walker is asked if illegals can stay, if they pay a fine. He responds with, I believes a way can be found to do that.
This is the same policy as his old policy.
Then he states that his policy has changed. No Scott, it hasnt changed. You just got through endorsing the same policy, illegals being allowed to stay in our country if they pay a fine. So you even fibbed about it.
In 2006/07, 2013, and now in 2015, his immigration policy regarding illegal immigrants is the same as that under McCain/Kennedy. Let them pay a fine and stay.
Immigration is discussed starting at 9:20 and the ...a way can be found... is located at 10:20
