Actually, the quote was: "... it is just wonderful to be back in Oregon, and over the last 15 months we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in fifty .... seven states? I think one left to go. One left to go. Alaska and Hawaii, I was not allowed to go to even though I really wanted to visit but my staff would not justify it."
So, he said 57, but his math would make 58 to visit (one left to go), and with leaving out Hawaii and Alaska, that would give us 60 states in total.
Wait a minute, you CAN see Russia from Alaska, on a clear day, a short distance across the Bering Strait...but no, Sarah never said it, and Tina Fey made it sound like it was from Sarah’s house in Wasilla. Screw ‘em, they will never stop lying

There is a radar base on the mainland from which you can see the tops of mountains in Russia too.

I think Obama said he had visited 57 states, and, like you said, he said he was going to visit two more. I believe he then added there was an additional state which he was NOT going to visit.
It’s pretty pathetic when the President of the United States thinks there are 60 states.
The Organisation of the Islamic Conference existed a long time before the name was changed to something less threatening.
Islamic terrorist countries could not exist because islam allows only ONE country, The Umma.
That created a problem, since the UN, for instance, allows a lot more power to 57 countries than to one.
That for instance, explains why "The UN" has passed around 500 resolutions condemning the Israeli occupation of a non-existent country, "Palestine."
