Women Soldiers Make History in First Gender-Integrated Ranger School

A group of women soldiers made history this week after earning a place in the first gender-integrated Ranger Course Assessment at Fort Benning in Georgia.

The U.S. Army Ranger School at Fort Benning opened Monday to a class of 19 women and 380 men, according to Stars and Stripes. Over the last four months, 20 women had secured a spot in the course assessment after passing one of four sessions of gender-integrated Ranger Training Assessment Courses (RTAC). One female soldier chose to withdraw.

Only eight women and 184 men successfully completed the first four days of Ranger School, after a series of physically grueling tests, officials told the Army Times on Thursday.

Sixteen women passed the initial fitness tests on Monday, in which soldiers must complete at least 49 pushups, 59 sit ups, six chin-ups and a timed five-mile run.

Where’s the gender equality crowd calling for women to be in the NBA and NFL. Cause it’s not what you can do but what diversity you bring to the table

The challenge of Ranger School is endurance and maintenance of awareness and tactics under severe lack of sleep and food. While humping full combat packs through swampland.

We;ll see, but MEN routinely lose 30 pounds or more in Ranger School. . .

Why do you think the Left is trying so hard to kill the NFL?

If it’s too rough for 4’ 11” women, how dare they operate the league?

Recognized Sex roles have a very significant role in the health of any human society. It is very shallow thinking to deliberately seek to discredit them. As with every form of egalitarian silliness, the social costs far, far exceed any benefit.

I could do that at 50 years old, easily, before I retired from the Navy in 2013. Surface Navy, not SEALS. So the standard for the Rangers, SOF, is that easy?

I smell a skunk.

Baloney!

“Say goodbye to the Rangers as an elite fighting force.”

Ranger School is a regular Army training school (TRADOC) that teaches leadership and small unit tactics. It is not part of the 75th Ranger Rgt.

The 75th Ranger Regiment makes Army Rangers, not the Ranger School.

Pass results[48.3 percent for men and 42.1 percent for women].
_____________________________________

Id ignore those results..

for a proper equation there needs to be an equal number of women starting as the men..

They would if there were some way of hiding the failure. In premiere sports the failure would be right there in front of the proverbial LazyBoy. Most people todat still have no idea of the degree to which certified female operators can’t do their jobs but they are out there being carried by the guys anyway.

about that there 100 pounds...

When I was in the USAF in the 1970s they decided women could be aircraft mechanics..this was pushed by some old biddies who probably were never in the military themselves but wanted things equal for females...

Well the next few women who enlisted found themselves to be packed off to their first bases as mechanics most without desiring to be mechanics at all...HEY !!! we have a social injustice experiment going here and its all good !!!

Well in the USAF men could carry up to 60 pounds but women by law were only to carry up to 40 pounds...

Those young women with their well manicured fingers got out on the flight line to find they were required to carry their own tool boxes weighing 100 pounds out to the planes to fix them just like the men did and the men would not help them even though the women expected them too...

OH NOEZ

and the men could not legally be ordered to carry those boxes for the women..the 60 pound rule...and ah every man for himself etc..

I heard it straight from the women who declared the men ungentlemanly and typically whatever word was used for “sexist” back then (I forget) LOL

I forget what the USAF did to accommodate the women but they did something..something they wouldn’t have done for the men...

SOF is a broad term. This is a school.

Your assessment is spot on. The fix is in. I received a first hand report from a 3rd Batt Ranger yesterday that the female students were segregated going through the Malvesti Confidence Course. They went through first, then were allowed to go shower while the male students went through seperately. There are also Army female "observers" assigned to watch and protect these rangerettes. They were seen at Malvesti watching the men go through and laughing at them.

Those remaining 8 will be whittled down. There will probably only be 3 or 4 left by the end of the Mountain Phase and 1 or 2 left by the end of Florida phase, but at least one of them will be tabbed. Some of the remaining will be recycled.

That’s just the standard to make sure you didn’t drop dead getting off the bus the first day of Ranger School. Actually completing the course is harder, I hear.

So, after only 4 days we are now down to 8.

The course lasts 8 weeks.

Sooner or later some woman will complete Ranger school but it will mean absolutely nothing. The female body is prone to stress fractures under loads that the average man can handle without breaking down. Which is why the Marine Corps cancelled their experiment with women. Even the elite female athletes that they earmarked for training broke down under load. Different bodies whether liberals want to accept that or not.
