".....In a recent Washington Examiner interview, Cruz promoted legal immigration and criticized Walker for suggesting that he supported limiting legal immigration if it has a negative impact on the wages of American workers.
"When we talk about what should be the policy on legal immigration, it should be driven by the economic impact. And number one on the list of priorities should be: What is the impact on American workers and American wages?" Walker said.
"If unemployment is high and labor participation is low, why would we want to open the door and flood the market with more workers at a time when our own people here are looking for work?"
Walker said that we are a country of immigrants, but we are also a country of laws. He asserted that we should be looking out for the American worker in everything we do.
"From immigration to tax policy to welfare reform and everything, Im going to stand with the American worker."

I think that's because they fear actually doing something to stop the invasion — I think it'd likely involve the use of military force, in the end.
Be careful, Walker! You are getting right into Ted Cruz’s trap.
Legal immigrants who won’t take away jobs from American people are the ones who are not going to work.
The Cheap Labor Express has paid the RNC for an amnesty candidate.
Part of the plan to deliver one is to pay Rubio, Graham, Huckabee and others to flood the field, split the vote and nominate another amnesty supporting Democrat in an R jersey.
Their preference is Jebster but they’ll settle for Rubio if they can’t get Bush.
But the policy is to not enforce; moreover, the policy is to extend to them privileges the citizen does not have.
There is a reason for this.
Plus all of us on FR would watch......
(FR thread link to Breitbart article which has the Cruz statement.)
But Harry Reid will win!!™

Seriously, if November taught us anything it's that the Republican party now believes that I'm not a democrat!
(without any sort of contrary actions) is enough to get elected. In other words, they know that they can get away with business as usual, wringing their hands and wailing about how powerless they are instead of actually doing anything.
If you don’t consider Cruz and Walker our top tier candidates then who is? Is there really anyone else that is better?
I had a run-in last night with one of the resident FRino’s. There is a contingent that still believes we’re better off with back-stabbing traitors in our midst.
True. Does anyone think Bobby Jindal merits a look?
Interesting; what happened?
(Also, I'm come to the opinion that it's us who are RINOs, because it is us who are willing to vote for someone who is not a Republican and the thru Republican is better represented by Romney, McCain, Boehner, and Bush because they are the true face of the Republican party.)
I vote for anyone who supports amnesty, guest workers, pathway to citizenship, any of it. I’ll just stay home.
That’s the kind of reply I’m expecting to come from Rick Santorum or Chris Christie.
Very unfortunate that an issue of “optics” is coming from an educated conservative.
I know it is difficult for people like you to comprehend. The vote wasn’t significant. The fix was in, and he exposed the GOP. He did vote against cloture. So, pull up your depends or go ask Boehner for a tissue to cry on...but enough with the stupidity. Geez, Reagan wouldn’t please half of you on FR. If we aren’t 100% of something, then let’s not support someone. YAY, that is a good strategy. You really are a genius. So, tell me, WHY should Cruz have voted. Would a 53-47 vote mattered?

Little dust up, I got the Barack thanks you bit.
I completely agree that the GOP is the establishment. Conservatives need to face facts that the plaid pants crowd would rather burn the party to the ground than let conservatives take over.
The GOP would disappear in 2 election cycles if conservatives bolted. It should have happened in 2008 when McAmnesty was nominated. We’d have an opposition party by now.
I can’t believe people on here buying into Walkers flip-flop on immigration this guy is totally NWO.
Not you. Livius.
