Very good spot SVT. I never, ever said anything against guns, or against anyone who chooses to carry a gun. I just said that I don’t carry one and never felt the need to carry a gun. Never have, and unless things change as I age, I cannot see when I might.
But for some reason there are those who reacted to my comments who get the positions confused.
It’s almost like the LGBT lobby, that is not satisfied with people who say, “live and let live”. You do as you want and I’ll do as I want. Some of the repsondents to my comments go beyond that, and like the gay lobby, demand that you celebrate their choice. If you don’t think exactly like they think, you are to be targetted.
Conservatism used to be where individualism was lauded, but seemingly there is a vein that demand “group think”.
You just lied in that post, you got on this thread to troll and insult concealed carry, and you signed up 4 months ago to lecture freepers on conservatism?
What are you doing on this thread about whether to carry with a round chambered or not?
I understand. I buck the trend, I do not sign on to you being a troll yet. I don’t agree with you, of course, and strongly advocate for firearms carrying, but you may be one of those who don’t have to worry as much because of your location.
It’s your choice. I feel you choose poorly, but it’s not my life-insurance policy I’m payin’.
Rather fascinating and very educational how and what things from what you've posted get picked up, changed and thrown back.
Given the political season we're just now entering and how the "discussions" in such seasons usually play out and the often bitter aftertaste tends to linger long after them, the lessons demonstrated here are timely and should be helpful.
I'm still working out my own comfort zone on the original topic and stopped on the thread for my own understanding, but the diversion you have sparked has been unexpectedly educational.
