Earlier, the interior ministry had warned that high winds were blowing the fire in northern Ukraine towards Chernobyl, where in 1986 a reactor fire led to the world’s worst nuclear disaster.

It’s still emitting radiation.

I used to work for the company, Bechtel, that is currently constructing an immense concrete sarcophagus that will encase the reactor.

It is being built on tracks, away from the site, and will be rolled over the reactor at the last minute.

“6,000 dead since Russians arrived in Ukraine”

You mean “6,000 dead since the Soros-financed Obamunists arrived in Ukraine, don’t you?

Keep licking Oligarch Junta filth boots if you chose, FRiend.

Last I heard, construction had stopped last summer, as the coup government has “more important” things to spend what little money they have left on.

The International Monetary Fund on Wednesday approved a bigger, high-risk bailout for Ukraine, giving Kiev immediate access to $5 billion of $17.5 billion in emergency IMF credit in another bid to keep the embattled country afloat.

You would think they could spend a little to encase that reactor.

I’m standing with the Ukrainian people. You’re welcome to continue smearing them in support of mass murdering KGB filth, FRiend.

You would think Russia would have better things to do than destroy Ukraine and ruin it’s economy.

It’s the Ukrainian government killing the Ukrainian people, not the Russians.

Yep. And those crafty Ukrainians even invaded Russia and blew up that Russian army ammo dump yesterday.

You did post a story about the Russian invader HQ going boom, right? Or are you just here to parrot the KGB propaganda of the day and smear Ukraine?

Yes, the city is mostly save to walk in winter as the ground is covered with snow, and it is quite safe in summer when you are containing yourself to remains of paved roads and sidewalks which are asphalt or concrete and for some reason not contaminated anymore. Metal structures, remains of vehicles and vegetation are the whole different matter. Metals become a magnet for isotopes and vegetation brings it up from the ground every season. There was especially bad place known as red forrest which might kill a person in hours. This site is only a couple dozen miles from Kiev, it seems like a serious situation.
