Agreed, our DNR are generally pretty good. The wolf decision came from the federal level.
Out in the valley he has a feeder which he fills with corn for the deer. Last Winter they had so much snow that he wasn't even able to open his back gate to access the field to fill the feeder.
A lot of deer were killed off due to the cold and snow and it took an extreme toll on the fawns last spring.
With that being one of the causes, the coyotes increased in numbers due to the abundance of food from the snow entrapped deer and their fawns.........
I talked with my friend Bill last week and he told me there is a good looking coyote that he's seen on the back edge of his valley but he can't shoot it because they're not in season right now......
