I don't have to - they decide themselves with every pre-addiction high they choose to engage in.

Once they get high, their brain short circuits their free will.

But in order to get high, they make a free-willed choice, so my statement remains correct.

In order to make a choice, one must have some understanding of the consequences. That is impossible in the case of drugs. They simply can't grasp what they are doing.
