"drove a cab"

How did you manage to survive all those years with the dregs of humanity? I think I'd rather work on an Alaskan crab boat than risk being a cabbie in the inner-city.

I think the drug dealers don’t want a lot of crime attracting attention to their area. that’s one thing.
I did have knives pulled on me twice, attack with bat once, and had a gun problem once. Multiple drunks, but I just dragged them out of the car
Sometimes there would be crying, heartbroken mothers at the door waiting for their alcoholic sons at 5am. sad.
But drug dealers in the cab, the prostitutes, the guys wanting to go buy drugs, they didn’t want to attract attention, so they were relatively safer.
The random dude with a chip on his shoulder was the issue.
I’ll tell you another time how two big gay black guys tried to rape me.

Critics say it's "unfair targeting" to drug test a person before they are allowed to live off of taxpayers?

...Ask them if it would be fairer if they also drug test taxpayers before they are allowed them to pay taxes!

He remains an excellent choice and keeps padding his credentials. Let’s hope that those who have deemed him and Cruz to be unworthy don’t get their way and leave us with a depressed voting bloc when it all shakes out.

they need to express themselves. They need time to write convicted cop killers get well letters.
people, that pos teacher was CHEERED by the black audience at her apology. The are not our common citizens and are basically enemies of the state in a lot of cases.

Impose a weight limit for food stamps.

No weight limit, no food stamps, no EBT cards. If the government wants to give nutrition assistance to the poor, it should be buying food and distributing that. Make them queue up to get their weekly ration of meat, cheese, milk, flour, etc. Nothing that can be treated as a fungible currency; give them the food directly.

Don’t know about other public employees, but I was subject to random drug tests while I was employed as a public school teacher.

I mostly agree.

I disagree that it’s total fairness. It is fair to require the recipient to take a drug test. It is still completely unfair to the taxpayer who has money stolen from him to pay for welfare. (Whether the welfare recipient is truly needy or drug-free has no bearing on the fact of the theft.)

Thou shalt not steal. There is no loophole that says it’s ok if you give the money to a third person. There is no loophole that says it’s ok if the majority vote to steal the money.

Now this I like. I’d also like to see welfare reform that requires able bodied recipients to work for their checks. There are always jobs that are costing the taxpayers extra that they could fill. These benefits should also be transitional and limited, with the understanding that they are expected to become employed and self suffcient. As a part of their benefits there should be jobs training and jobs placement.

More thoughts on Scott Walker’s demand for drug tests:

This will reduce the taxes needed to pay for the layabouts.

Take 1/3 to 1/2 of the money saved with the reduction of welfare payments & REDUCE the taxes in Wisconsin. They are now & have always been awfully high.

Take some of the other money saved & :

IDENTIFY kids who have finished high school & have a real diploma who cannot get a job. Pay PART of their tuition & supplies to a VOCATIONAL school, where they can learn a trade. These possible students must have a clean record-—no arrests or other criminal records—including plea bargaining-——be of good character—& must pass a test to determine their abilities & skills which lean toward a particular trade-—carpenter—plumbing—electrician—whatever.

Believe it or not, there is a severe shortage in the USA of farriers-—people who trim hooves & put shoes on horses. Farrier schools are available in the USA, and then a person could apprentice with an older farriers for a minimum period of years. They could be called journeyman when the master farrier says so. The master farrier gets a direct $$$ for $$$ tax credit for taking the student on as an apprentice. Same for any other trade or business.

Then offer a DIRECT $$$ for $$$ tax credit to a business affiliated with such skill set which will hire these students 4 hours a day. They earn some money, get hands on experience are attending school to advance themselves. They will end up with skills & become TAX PAYERS-—instead of TAX TAKERS.

The student might end up in the business which helped to train them—they might end up in another location. However-—they will have skills & a reason to be productive.

The scammers must be removed from the benefit systems all over the USA. This plan benefits each community as a whole===keeps younger workers flowing into the trades while older ones retire.

This plan only applies to high school graduates who have a clean record & are motivated.

Since I don’t live in Wisconsin ( I was born there), can anyone here get this idea to Gov. Walker???

There are three subdivisions of the welfare class; those who despite trying can not do for themselves; those who will not try to do for themselves, and those who are gaming the system very comfortably.

The first should be helped. The second should be cut off. The third should be imprisoned, working for their keep.

You'll have to ban public employee unions first. Those are THEIR jobs you're messin' with!

It’s not their job unless the state says it is. If the state assigns certain jobs to those on welfare, the public unions can pound sand.

....... organizing a conservative protest is hard because everyone is working, ....

Precisely. That is why we must have division of effort here.
Whitey work. Brownie play. In Washington DC, where our government agencies are dominated by Affirmative Action Ani at every level, even "working" Brownies have Rolodexes full of handy Whiteys (Thank God!) so they can keep playing while they are "working."

DC Government Agency Definition of "Working:"
Shopping
Lunching
Phoning to ask Rolodex people to set up Conferences
PowerPointing presentations done by those on the Rolodexes
Issuing reports authored by Rolodex people to attendees of the Lunching, Shopping, Conferencing presentations.

OMG, I forgot Golf ... and travel to conferences.
Sorry ... don't take me off your Rolodex!
N.B.("Rolodex" an archaic term, now automated with smart phones.)

There was a time, mostly in the 19th century, that churches and other private charities carried the freight. Only during the "progressive era" of the early 20th century did the left wingers of the time decide that the government should control charity and take the money needed from the taxpayers.

The shift included abandoning the concept of helping the "worthy" poor and adopting the idea of welfare for everybody, regardless. This was a lethal error we still live with today.
