GoFundMe drops campaign for Baltimore rioters after conservative complaints

GoFundMe removed a crowdfunding campaign on behalf of jailed Baltimore rioters Sunday, a day after conservatives began complaining about the effort.

Greg Scott, vice president of media communications for Alliance Defending Freedom, said he first contacted the company Saturday about the rioters’ crowdfunding campaign. His Twitter posts decrying the campaign were picked up by conservative radio talk-show host Dana Loesch and Gateway Pundit blogger Jim Hoft.

“We first started poking GFM yesterday by contacting the site directly and then via a series of tweets,” Mr. Scott said in a Sunday email. “The purpose has really been to either expose the hypocrisy of GFM for blocking campaigns for our clients or to see if they stay consistent.”

ADF attorneys represent Barronelle Stutzman, owner of Arlene’s Flowers, whose crowdfunding campaign was removed a week ago by GoFundMe after complaints from gay-marriage advocates. Ms. Stutzman is facing a civil damages award for refusing to provide services for a same-sex wedding.

They should cut off all welfare and food stamps in the city and only have a gofundme campaign, or whatever. That way only stupid liberal’s money will be expended.

“If it takes conservative lawyers to put these punks in their place, GOOD! “

We need Conservative lawyers to start filing frivolous lawsuits against liberal groups as well as liberal elected officials.

Force then to start spending money. It’s only then that they stop the madness.

So, GFM had to be forced to apply their own rules in this case.

Who owns / runs GoFundMe, anyway? I think it’s based in CA.

I wrote the CEO an email last week when he pulled the funding effort for Sweet Cakes by Melissa. I challenged him on why he gets to choose which efforts his company gets to fund but other companies can’t do the same.

Yeah, but liberals ignore the rules. They play by the double standard. That’s why I’m having a hard time believing GFM would unfund punks and thugs.

http://www.prageruniversity.com/Political-Science/Dont-Judge-Blacks-Differently.html#.VUesoBhHarU

This is an absolutely must see video from Dennis Prager. It’s short and worth every second and I hate being asked to watch videos. This one is to share with your liberal friends, especially your black liberal friends.

In order to judge these black rioters fairly on their ACTIONS ALONE, I’ve inserted “Russians from Russia” instead of blacks into the argument. How would we as Americans feel if a bunch of Russian youths came here and decided to attack Baltimore in this way? They might have a lot of anger about Americans doing things in Ukraine or make up a reason for their anger. It doesn’t matter, because these rioters don’t know the truth about the guy who died in police custody, anyway, for sure.

If it were Russian youths, no one would make any excuses for their behavior. It would be ugly criminality and everyone would want them punished to the full extent of the law, prevented, and stopped.

Thus anyone who conducts themselves similarly needs the exact same dispassionate treatment. Angry black people don’t deserve special pity like children or poor dumb animals might. They are intelligent human beings and there is no excuse for their behavior and it is high time we sropped wringing our hands with the bigotry of low expectations.

I don’t blame GFM for being weak-kneed. A lot of companies are very timid to the threat of litigation. However, this being said, it seems to me that conservative organizations are in tremendous need of a GFM type company that only provides the service for conservative organizations and people.

I doubt we have seen the last of the Democrats “Operation Choke Point”, under the auspices of a corrupt Just Us Department, where legitimate legal businesses are starved of commercial financing and banking services, just because the Democrats do not like them.

The same with these private businesses like bakeries and photographers. They need some means to appeal to the public for the funds they need, that the radical left cannot shut down.

Last but not least, a conservative GFM operation could be used to fund raise for individuals being attacked and persecuted by the left. There are lots of conservatives, for example, who were very willing to contribute funds for Zimmerman’s defense.

Who is making the decisions for that company? They have shown that they can be bullied and manipulated by the left.
This was but one very obvious example of leftist bias, so they cut it loose.

I agree! We have TRILLIONS of dollars in spending power...perhaps it’s time that we come up with sites that support our cause.
