Would love to see a Cruz Sanders debate. We could really see the two American visions at work

I wonder how much the h1b visa is going to affect the race. I have to start doing a lot more reading up on the subject. Very strong opinions on FR for both sides..

Why the reluctance to call Sanders what he really is — a communist? (O.K., “socialist,” for those who are afraid to use the c-word.)

” Why the reluctance to call Sanders what he really is — a communist? (O.K., “socialist,” for those who are afraid to use the c-word.)”

We have allowed the left to control our language, and we are reaping the results.

1) “gay” for homosexual.

2) progressive “progress” instead of REgressive

3) “Socialist” instead of communist.

4) “immigrants”

What percentage of Americans can even define “socialist” ?

But if you use the word “communist”, many know it’s a bad thing.

It’s all a big word game to the Left.

Liberal was so destroyed by their actions, that they refused to be called that any longer. They took on the word progressive.

Now that was their right to attempt. What bothered me was that people on the right obliged them. Why?

Just continue to refer to them as Liberals. Make it stick!

The other word games are pretty much the same thing, and our leaders on the right play right along.

I agree with your consternation here.

” and our leaders on the right play right along.”

I wasn’t aware that there were any “leaders on the right”

left. Just a UNIparty.

Well, in actuality there aren’t. There are figureheads, but to call them leaders is the height of bastardization of the word.

These guys give Obama a run for the money when it comes to leading from behind.

They empower him and the Left.

Sanders has some interesting positions, like ending unfair competition for jobs US citizens could fill. In that Stephanopoulos interview, Sanders came across as very secure in the ideas he was advocating, like he'd developed them over a lifetime and actually believed what he was saying.

What would do the US a real lot of good is if it could be Jeff Sessions vs Bernie Sanders. Two elder statesmen who are informed, accomplished, and principled.

And, yeah, I'd rather have a President Sanders than a President hillary or a President Jeb.

I wonder if any of these who look at polar opposites, accept the fact that the resident of the White Hut is a radical Marxist of the worst stripe.
To elect Cruz would not be as big of a pendulum swing by any stretch.

Sanders is a “Populist” in the same manner Hugo Chavez is one. IOW, he is all about big government, high taxation, expansion of “rights” to criminals, special “rights” to minorities and homosexuals (soon to be expanded to child molesters), firearms confiscation, government ownership of means of production, etc. He is old-line Leftist with close associations to the Communist Party and other Marxist groups. He is a true Populist in name only. Hence, he is a PINO. That the term sounds similar to a certain male body part is, perhaps, not by accident.

The “people on the right,” i.e., the GOP obliged them because they are just as concerned about having power as any Marx-Leninist. Granted, they want to “let” you keep a little more of your earnings, but the leadership of the GOP no more believe in liberty than the now thoroughly-Marxist Democrat Party. As the GOP dwindles in power and influence, they will be increasingly happy with the few crumbs the Left let fall from the table.

Well, I can’t argue with that. It sure seems you’re right on target.

I wouldn’t doubt it. He has to know he hasn’t a prayer of getting anywhere near the nomination.

Heck, I could have said that about Obama too. LOL

"I'd rather have a President Sanders than a President hillary or a President Jeb."

Have you actually looked into Sanders' background. He is closely associated with the Communist and Revolutionary Communist Parties. He is pro-Palestinian and favors the mad mullahs who run Iran. As despicable as the Clintons are, I would pull the lever for Hillary (and then go outside and puke) before I would for Sanders. He is ideologically no different than Bill Ayers or Bernadine Dorn. He just didn't have the balls to blow things up and kill and maim folks like his pals did in the Weather Underground.

I'd prefer Sanders because he's honest about his views. It's not like the nation would be saved by President hillary or President Jeb.

Sanders is much better about US jobs for US workers than just about anyone else running, except Scott Walker's most recent statements.

Bernie is a socialist. What he seems not to realize is that Sweden is a national socialist state, one founded on a single ethnic group. Before the war, it was a poor state, but by trading with the Germans, who respected its neutrality, was rewarded with the prosperity that has funded its cradle to grave welfare state ever since. Liked the Turks with regard to the Armenian genocide, they have their “myth,” of neutrality, but “thems be the facts” The socialists in the Attlee Labour government will always looking to Sweden for examples, and of course, regretting that Britain could not opt out of the Cold War. Of course, Sweden had grown if not fat then fit and tanned as a result of the war. It and Switzerland.

If Bernie were younger, he might have a shot, at least a better one than Dr Ron Paul ever got.
