Two words: Head Shot.

Indeed, they were head shots. The Patrol Officer is a 60-year-old, 38-year veteran of the Garland PD, who had never before drawn his service weapon in the line of duty. The whole thing was over in 15-seconds.
Exactly ..!!
As soon as they said the perps were wearing body armour - I knew the officer had shot them in the head.
Great training ..!!!!!!

If true, I guess it means the cop was ignoring the standard advice to aim always for “body mass.”
Either that, or he knew somehow that the perps were wearing body armor.
Whatever the explanation, it’s a very instructive case.
If I have been told correctly, Israeli troops / police are told to do so as well as those with devices strapped to themselves can't push the trigger if the neurons aren't firing, especially if they have be short circuited by lead.
Like another poster noted, if they had armor on and he saw it that was a good decision.
I'd like to know what his issued sidearm is. Standard ole fashion 911 .45? if so it is a testament to that weapon and his skill with it aka he has been training and training for years, and it all that preparation was put to good use.
Would really like to know if he brought them down with head shots. Wish they would at least tell us that.
