McCoy on (Philadelphia Eagles coach) Kelly: 'There's a reason he got rid of all the black players'
CBS Sports ^ | May 6, 2015 | Jared Dubin

In an interview with ESPN.com, Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy answered a series of questions about his childhood growing up in Pennsylvania, his place in the league as a 26-year old running back, his new team, his new coach (Rex Ryan) and his former team and coach, the Philadelphia Eagles and Chip Kelly.

There's a reason. ... It's hard to explain with him. But there's a reason he got rid of all the black players -- the good ones

[Snip]

McCoy is now the second former member of the Eagles to hint at possible racism on Kelly's part this offseason. Former Eagle Tra Thomas, who did not play for Kelly but served as an offensive line assistant the last two seasons, said earlier in March, "One of the things that you're seeing right now, and these are the things that you have heard from the locker room from different players is that ... they feel like there is a hint of racism."

It's racist for an NFL coach to cut or trade Black players.

The Justice Department Civil Rights Division should step in and investigate patterns and practices.

Good grief — there aren’t enough black players in the NFL?

Who is this guy kidding?

Chip Kelly wants HIS team period. I doubt it was race as much as he wants to show the old guard that he's the coach and in charge.

Common among college coaches.

It would be a good bet that someone who is actually a racist would never make it to a coaching position in the NFL. On the other hand if a black coach was cutting white players would anyone bring up racism? I don’t think so.

That’s why the Eagles’ #1 pick was black, right LeSean?

Last I checked DeMarco Murray - his replacement - is also a man of African American heritage.

This is funny. I’ve heard Kelly accused of a lot of things, but this is the first time I’ve heard him called racist. I guess the charge gets thrown around so much and so easily that any prominent white in sports eventually will get hit with it.

I'm a racist
You're a racist
He's a racist
She's a racist
We're all racists
Wouldn't you like to be a racist, too?

That's pretty much it. Win or lose, he is going to do it with his guys. I think he saw the roster the way it was and figure they would never get beyond a 10-6 or 11-5 record and maybe a playoff win. He could be totally wrong and crash and burn in stunning fashion, but it will be with his team, not Reid's.

There were many white guys on the Super Bowl Champion team this past season, maybe the Coach is looking to emulate success. That’s racist too though huh? DANG
