First Lady Michelle Obama suggested at an opening of the new $420 million Whitney Museum in New York City that minorities rarely feel welcome at such venues.
“You see, there are so many kids in this country who look at places like museums and concert halls and other cultural centers and they think to themselves, ‘well, that’s not a place for me, for someone who looks like me, for someone who comes from my neighborhood.’”
She then said she could “guarantee you that right now, there are kids living less than a mile from here who would never in a million years dream that they would be welcome in this museum,” the Daily Caller reported.
And how does she know that?
“Growing up on the South Side of Chicago,” Obama said, “I was one of those kids myself. So I know that feeling of not belonging in a place like this. And today, as first lady, I know how that feeling limits the horizons of far too many of our young people.”
Obama also said she and her husband have taken that view to heart in the White House, and tried to set aside specific times to host those who may not see themselves as fitting into the exclusive surroundings.
“The message we’re trying to send is simple. We’re telling our young people, the White House is your house,” she said. “You belong here as much as anyone else in this country. We’re telling them, make yourselves at home...

I see what happened. She thought it was the WHITEY Museum, not the WHITNEY Museum.
That mistake could happen to anyone. No really. Well maybe.
I know, for a fact, that she grew up in a middle class home. She absolutely went to schools that took the students on field trips to at least two and probably more of the museums in Chicago. Her kids went to Lab and they absolutely, beyond a shadow of any doubt, went on field trips to several Chicago museums and to "children's concerts" as well.
And as far as "looking after the poor blacks", in Chicago, when she lived there and had a made-up job, that paid her over $300,000 a year, she sent those blacks to an inferior hospital, to "spare" the one she was working for, from treating them !
They are openly saying that education, intact families, and culture are things that minorities can never achieve.
In other words, the left is going back to its roots.
If anyone feels "uncomfortable" going there, they need to put on their adult pants and get over it.
But no, she doesn't want to fix anything, just wants to bitch and grumble.

They think those places suck because white people like them.
If they like them they are acting too white.
She ought to just stfu about stuff she thinks she knows but doesn’t have a clue about due to her liberal black privilege.

It’s probably true that museums look askance at wookies. Probably wondering how it escaped from the anthropology section.
So we need a fried chicken and wateemelon museum? An exhibit of hand painted pants to the knees? A protest sign exhibit?

Many blacks, even those that are well off, are obsessed with race and racism. From birth they are indoctrinated that it is the cause of their problems. Its not surprizing that they see it everywhere. They probably think that the traffic lights are racist.
They also have no interest because of they’re full of examples of the past “high culture” produced by almost entirely those “dead white males”. Yeah, I’d be ‘intimidated” if I were them, too. Museums are repositories for exactly the kinds of artifacts which blacks would rather dismiss or ignore when they’re not trying to claim to foolishness such as Mozart was really black). They’d probably like to have the treasures stored or sold to private individuals, in their quest to revise history. Or even just bring the next riots over some criminal to the museums of art, engineering, space travel, undersea exploration,etc, because it “offends” them to have to be reminded that dead white males were the originators of western civilisation, especially in the arts and sciences, in which they’re unsurpassed to this day.
I persnally dont go to museums because they genreally push liberal themes and one that claims to be a science museum type where I am actually tried passing off cience fiction aliens displays to lure people in. Under the guise of science. Science fiction, yeah. Not science.
True enough. I'm so tired of the whining by the left. They've been given more opportunities than most of us were, but squandered them without conscience.
No twerking in the museum you little thugs!
