You know he is going to give everyone the discount regardless, right?
I think he is doing this to tweak someone.
Those are not protected classes.
Race, gender, religion, disability, etc.
If someone is denied that discount based on race, he will be breaking the law.
Yep. That's one way to retire.
The promotion is what’s illegal.
“Offering a discount is not refusing service to others”
The law doesn’t hinge on refusing service. If you are charging more to customers of one race (or any race except white), that qualifies as discrimination as well.
“how is it any different than offering moms a discount on Mother’s Day or Dads on Father’s Day? Or vets on Veteran’s Day?”
Non-mothers, non-fathers, and non-veterans are not “protected classes”. Races are a protected class.
There are Government sponsored programs for only blacks. Back in the early
80's I was turned down for an SBA loan sponsored by the Government,
because I wasn't Black. Nobody went to prison for that.
Gender is a protected class, and I specifically cited Mother's Day and Father's Day discounts are specific to that. One could make the claim that it discriminates against a particular gender on either day.
Yeah, there are entire agencies in the FedGov that give preferential treatment to Native Americans, it's even spelled out directly in the job description. Look for jobs in the Office of Special Trustee in the Department of Interior.
“I don’t think it’s illegal if he doesn’t refuse the discount to all other races who ask for it.”
He’s put advertising out there offering discounts specifically based on race. I don’t think he’s going to be able to wiggle out of that now.
“Is it illegal to spell out a problem in society and make a point? Nope.”
No, but it is illegal to charge people different amounts based on race.
“There are Government sponsored programs for only blacks.”
The government is not a business engaged in commerce, and government programs are not public accommodations.
“Gender is a protected class, and I specifically cited Mother’s Day and Father’s Day discounts are specific to that.”
No they’re not. They’re specific to mothers and fathers, not women and men. Besides, even if you were correct, you would only be proving that those discounts are also illegal, you wouldn’t be proving that racial discounts are somehow legal.
Ladies Night at any bar. Ladies get the discount, men do not, yet these are not shut down as a violation of law. The law, in this case, is an ass.
Legally, being mother is a choice. Being a woman is not.
Ladies Night discounts?
The law hasn't been broken if he just makes the claim and doesn't follow through.
It would probably be worse if he refused to cater to the Fagstople.
What the hell are you talking about? Are you saying Government sponsored
racism is legal? According to what you posted the Government can go as far
as making it a crime for Whites to have Jobs in the Government.
“Ladies Night at any bar. Ladies get the discount, men do not, yet these are not shut down as a violation of law.”
Yes, there have been suits against that but they failed, because:
“Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title II) protects persons from discrimination in places of public accommodation based on: race, color, religion and national origin. (5) Sex is not a protected class under this statute.
The courts have interpreted the language of the statute strictly, refusing to infer that Congress intended sex to be included as well, despite requests by plaintiffs for the courts to do so.”

However, “Ladies nights” have been successfully challenged under several state anti-discrimination laws. I think it’s probably just a matter of time before there is a successful challenge at the federal level.
“What the hell are you talking about? Are you saying Government sponsored racism is legal?”
Not quite. The law prohibits government discrimination based on race, but only in specific circumstances. The programs you object to aren’t covered.
All this does is show how absurd “discrimination” laws are. We can go round and round all day disagreeing, but it will do nothing to get us back to our original right of freedom of association.
“Ladies Night discounts?”
Against the law in most if not all states.
If you go into such a bar, and complain, they will give you the discount.
