According to New Jersey Watchdog, Christie reportedly spent over $82,000 of taxpayer money on concessions at MetLife Stadium.
Christie paid for food and drinks at MetLife with a debit card 58 times over the 2010 and 2011 NFL seasons, accruing a bill of $82,594. That means he spent an average of nearly $1,500 on food and drinks every time he attended a football game.

For what it’s worth, he’s still a piker compared to Michelle Obama. If we could only access the truth, I imagine we’d find that they all do it. (Just so you know, I can’t stand Christie).

Beers at the stadium are $10.00 - $12.00 each / Hot Dogs $7.00 each and soda’s start at $5.00 for a small. There’s alot of legitimate crap to throw at Christie, this is not one of them as he was probably entertaining a large amount of people. The headline however makes for good copy, but at least he paid for it himself.
How about fostering policy that promotes jobs instead of bribing CEO’s and such...
It doesn’t matter who is releasing the information. It’s abuse and the charge is against a leftist.
Christy is a weak leader and has no personal self discipline. So glad his bid to run for the presidency fizzled out.
The unusual part is that the taxpayers footed the bill.

You’ll notice the implication is that Christie actually Ate and Drank all that stuff.
Of course, compared to the Clinton Foundation, Christie is a Piker.
Undoubtedly he is entertaining a bunch of people at these games and perhaps some of that benefits New Jersey.
This story wouldn't exist if it was a thin politician spending the same amount on food.
Quite often deals are made during a round of golf, or at a different function where there is socializing.
You’re talking about big rollers, and these folks do a lot of business. Business meetings get boring, and there needs to be some levity too.
Socializing isn’t a bad way to accomplish things. I’m all for attending meetings too, if that works, but I don’t think business people should be locked into meetings from sunrise to beyond sunset just because they are business people.
People are more likely to form working relationships with others they enjoy being around. That’s no really a bad thing.
I believe you’re trying to convey the idea that all those snacks shouldn’t be necessary. In concept I agree, but when reality takes over, I do think socializing is a added benefit.
