I recognize Bush for being the GOPe designated loser. That still doesn’t change the fact that this young woman’s narrative was a work of fiction. It bore no resemblance to reality.
He could have spent fifteen minutes educating her, but in a rope line that isn’t what you do. She just prattled on making a statement. She asked why he didn’t answer the question, and frankly she ran on so far beyond the question it was ludicrous to expect an answer on that point.
Do you walk away? Do you interrupt? Do you talk down to her? Do you ignore everyone else in line to grant her this interview, or platform for a statement?
In this type of situation you could be criticized for doing just about anything. In the end, he gave her the right simple answer.
