Agreed. My husband and I plan to leave The People's Republik of Connecticut *someday*, but I don't think I can stand the Florida summers. I don't know where we'll end up... still researching.
Yes and no. Most who come up here stay here only when the snow melts. Most cannot get to their cabins during the winter without snowmobiles.
Population of full timers is about 23 now. We have many who work in Alaska here. Have their 2nd homes here.
You need to come thru our town to get to the Salmon river.
It also fills up on weekends when we have snow...huge snowmobile area here.

For some reason, it breaks my heart more that the Dodgers left Brooklyn, NY (waaay back in 58?), more than the Whalers leaving Hartford, CT. I guess at heart I'm slightly more of a baseball fan. Maybe if the Whalers had been an Original Six team, I'd feel the loss more strongly...

Not even close. Ours was built 70’s. They didn’t even have power or phones up here then. Most didn’t have bathrooms only outhouses.
