Wasn’t clorine gas used as a chemical weapon in WWI?

Chlorine was the historical chemical weapon used in WWI.

He’s lying. Chlorine was the first lethal chemical agent used by Germany in WWI.

"The first killing agent employed by the German military was chlorine. Chlorine is a powerful irritant that can inflict damage to the eyes, nose, throat and lungs. At high concentrations and prolonged exposure it can cause death by asphyxiation.[8] German chemical companies BASF, Hoechst and Bayer (which formed the IG Farben conglomerate in 1925) had been producing chlorine as a by-product of their dye manufacturing.[9] In cooperation with Fritz Haber of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Chemistry in Berlin, they began developing methods of discharging chlorine gas against enemy trenches.[10][11]"

Can this dumbassed excuse for a "president" be more ignorant?
The debut of the first poison gas was chlorine - 22 April 1915, at the start of the Second Battle of Ypres.

Is he going to say how it’s not his red line, but the world’s red line? But that chlorine gas is not one of the world’s red lines??

Pretty soon, he’s going to say that Iran’s nuclear weapons are OK because they are just atoms.

Since in the eyes of Obama and his followers, history is irrelevant and all that matters started in 2008...or maybe 2001 when evilBushHitler destroyed America...this is a true fact.

How about we have him walk through a cloud of chlorine gas and then ask him how he feels about it not being “historical” enough.

I guess the First World War never happened, Chlorine gas was first introduced as a weapon on April 22, 1915, at Ypres by the German Army, but its value as an effective tool was hampered by the fact that it blew back across the lines and affected the Germans as badly as it did the French, as the Germans had trouble donning their gas masks quickly enough.
Chlorine is pretty much a two-edged sword. It is the third-most corrosive element in the Universe, behind only fluorine and - oxygen. Chlorine does most of its damage not directly, but by wrenching the hydrogen off a water molecule, forming nascent oxygen, a HIGHLY reactive form that is ozone on steroids, and that is what does the destruction. The hydrogen chloride gas formed in the process is just secondary, and once in water solution, becomes a very strong mineral acid.
