I had a 60s era niece and nephew. They wanted their kids to be treated as neutrals, so that they wouldn’t be classified when they were born. No blue for their two first born boys. They were given cars and dolls to play with and did everything to not influence them. Then they had a daughter. Nephew held her close to him and gasped-—— “ She DOES feel different!! Like a girl””!!!!
Meanwhile the two boys were racing their toy cars on the edge of the rug as tho there was a racing track there.
Sigh.
I heard a story of an Israeli kibbutz trying this. Same result: boys gravitated to boy things, girls to girl things.
Sometimes there is overlap in still-healthy children, and that’s fine as long as it does not go to the ridiculous point.
