Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) wants to kill Obamacare, but he admitted that he might have to sign up for it after his wife took a leave from her job and its benefits.
As it turns out, Cruz never signed up for Obamacare. He purchased his family's health insurance off the open market.
Cruz and his wife, Heidi, purchased a private health insurance plan from Texas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, campaign spokesman Rick Tyler said Saturday.
"They didn't buy it off the exchange," Tyler said. There was no gap between coverage, and the Cruz family never enrolled in a plan through the Affordable Care Act. He would not give details on the plan the Cruz family has, nor discuss the cost.

My understanding was that the Cruz family had insurance through Heidi Cruz’s employment. Then when she resigned when Ted announced, they got it through the private market rather than the Senate... Is there a problem? Is there something I do not understand?
Well, the leftstream media raised a big brouhaha a couple months ago about Cruz possibly signing up for Obamacare. Guess they got it wrong. No surprise.
He was talking like he would sign up for it.
Ted Cruz, our last chance. The one man who stands between us and socialism

Hmmmm.... iIn all seriousness Vin, I think you are only half right. I think Ted Cruz is the one man who stands between us and the total destruction of this great Constitutional Republic called the U.S.A.
“Ted Cruz, our last chance. The one man who stands between us and socialism.”
We are already rather socialized. Look at Socialized Security. And the progressive tax structure and the EIC.
We are also fascist to some extent, with rogue unaccountable agencies controlling what businesses have to deal with (EPA, OSHA, etc).
But Cruz could reverse some of that. IMO, he’d be the only one that I would vote for because he would reverse the amnesty that is being forced upon us.
From the article:

That piqued my curiosity. We can probably assume they picked one of the high-end plans. Good for them!
As for not purchasing the plan through the ZeroCare exchange, that's just good sense. But it doesn't really matter, since ZeroCare mandates what plans the likes of Texas BCBS and other private insurors can offer.
True. Bought through the exchange or not, the fact is Obunglecare has forced up the price of ALL plans. You can't escape its effects.
As long as TAX SERFS DON’T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT!
It’s the
TROJAN HORSSE CANIDATE: that worries me the most. Yes, it’s FR posted.

I was going to say the SAME THING. We need to know if or what health insurance his family has? How about we open his medical records and find out he has toenail fungus and tennis elbow? Meanwhile there has been an illegitimate pres__ent in the whitehouse with no record of education or actual employment... we don’t even know where he may have been born... but the things we do know are completely disregarded by a corrupt leftist press. Disgusting.
This is what happens when we allow a minority of the voting population of this nation; the “47%”, the entitled, the takers, the consumers, the idle, the destroyers, to vote.
I hope everyone gets their feces in rectilinear fashion soon and gets behind a constitutional conservative candidate NOW. Hint: Ted is tge only one, it seems.
Seriously, if Cruz purchased a plan through the federal exchange I would question his intelligence! :)

THANKS so much, DM! That’s about 50% better than usual-—

I agree-I think we’re all saying the same thing. It’s not hyperbole. There’s been a structural change in governance, Obamacare now the tipping point. None of the GOP, except Sen. Cruz, will seek to reverse that shift.
If President, while Cruz may not be able to effect a complete reversal of the DC Politburo, he has a credible chance of reorienting the Republican Party back to limited gov’t/ federalism.
“If President, while Cruz may not be able to effect a complete reversal of the DC Politburo, he has a credible chance of reorienting the Republican Party back to limited govt/ federalism.”
I hadn’t thought of that! If he could do the miraculous - give us a true two party system with the Republicans espousing real conservatism, that could change the country back to what made it great.
