The posters of President Bashar al-Assad once hung proud in Syrias capital. Supporters of the regime would confidently predict the defeat of the terrorists - the accepted term for the rebel opposition.
In the last few weeks, however, the the insurgents have turned the tide of the civil war by winning a string of battlefield victories against Mr Assads forces.
In the north, a newly unified rebel coalition called the Army of Conquest managed to capture Idlib, a provincial capital, and much of the surrounding territory.

Joy. At this rate it is only a matter of time before Iseral, Lebanon and Jordan will have to launch a joint invasion in order to carve out a buffer state in the extreme south of what will be the former Syria.

Bet the “moderate” rebels can’t wait to get their hands on some Christians.
Every additional inch past the Golan is one inch ISIS is further away.
The time will come when we’ll be at another, “Who Knew?” moment. Obama and his advisers will feign surprise as this goes terribly wrong.
The word “unexpected” will appear thousands of more times in papers across the nation.
Bush will be trashed for screw up in Iraq.
We’ll still know, but few others will.
By starting the civil war against his own country, Assad violated one of the oldest rules -- don't let your thugs' gun barrels write checks that your ass can't cash.
