Yes.
There are very few business models outside of the mafia crime families where you can be paid two or more times for the same event.
Billing fraud is rampant in the healthcare profession, at least within NY state.
You see things where you get billed for the same test twice.
Had quest diagnostics try that.
I laughed at them.

Darks, became caught up in this law. A bit over two years till relief is possible from payments ... afraid to go without insurance based on age ... Three days away from making a decision. Please pray decision will be the right one for Family. Thanks, Darks!

I recently completed a two week hospital stay, I’m guessing at least $100K but I’ll never see a bill. I know, from experience with my wife’s hospital stays. Hospitals, at least around these parts, quit sending itemized bills directly to patients years ago and just send them to insurers. Too much fraud going on that they don’t want potential whistle blower patients to know about.

~~An aside~~

While I was in, I asked for a box of tissues, a nurse brought them to me and scanned the bar code on the box before leaving them with me. Probably about a $40 box of Kleenex.
