A Sikh student from New Zealand who broke strict religious protocol by taking off his turban to help save the life of a child hit by a car has been heralded as a hero.
Harman Singh, 22, removed his turban to cradle the bleeding head of a five-year-old boy who had been struck on his way to school in Takanini, South Auckland.
Could not fit actual title due to length. Title should read:
Touching moment a Sikh man breaks strict religious protocol and removes his turban to help save life of a five-year-old boy who was hit by a car

You need to make the distinction between Iraqi and ethnic Chaldean. The Chaldeans are christian (split between Catholic and Orthodox) and I daresay would stop and help. Muslim Iraqis, anybodys guess what they would do.

Never met Sikh I didnt like.

Ditto — Big Time Ditto.
I am acutely aware of the difference between “Iraqi” and Chaldean, or Assyrian Christian. I know many Chaldeans. I am not speaking of them per se, though frankly, there is little difference between the two. Their Iraqi culture is what makes them dollar hungry, not their religion.
Amen. Sikh’s are great people, often unfairly mistaken for muslim. Sikh’s HATE muslims.
Not necessarily. Muslim Kurds have put their lives on the line over and over to rescue and protect the Yazhidi and to fight against ISIS.
Muslim youths in Egypt helped to protect Coptic churches.
Don't be too quick with the exceptionless accusations.
This needs to go viral.
The daughter put her family's life at risk, as well as her own, to support the U.S. forces.
“Always hate it when these people accidentally get targeted after a muslim terrorist attack. The seem pretty decent folk.”
Me too. Sikhs are generally solid. They also can be mean as #### when forced into a corner, usualy by muslimes. /Sikh toughness here is a GOOD thing...
Likewise...
Of course where there is no assimilation there is no benefit of cultural Christianity; ditto where the legal framework -- including the constitution -- is overrun by wanton lawlessness.
Agree. I have known a few over the years in business transactions. They are people I welcome to be Americans.
Going back in Indian history, the Sikhs and the Hindus may have had their disputes, but when the Muslims invaded with their “convert or die”, they found the Sikhs to be a fierce opponent. The Sikhs are against forced conversion, and I believe that they are against proselytizing (correct me if I’m wrong. If I am correct, the Zoroastrians are the same way).
The first born of every Hindu family was given to the Khalsa to create the Sikh faith. Sikhism started as a non-violent religion like its predecessor Hinduism. However, after repeated massacres by Muslims, Guru Gobind Singh formalized the martial nature and symbols we associate with modern Sikhs today.
There is little connection between modern Sikhism and Hinduism today.
I love Sikhs.
Like Jews outside of the USA,
They terrify Moslems.
They don’t fly hijacked airplanes into buildings.
Thank you all, I learned some more history.
The gurdwara in my neighborhood keeps the muslims away.
All the Sikhs that I met at engineering school were amongst the finest human beings I’ve ever met.
No, they would have asked him if he wanted to convert to islam and if he said "no" they would have cut off his head.....Thaat's what their "holy" book says to do....
