So?
Why is this our problem? Bagdad had been sacked and re-sacked dozens of times over centuries. Sunni, Shia, other sects ... who ever came along with enough brute force.
This is the history of the region. Why should it all of a sudden be different now?

"Why is this our problem?"
We won the war and Obama lost the peace. The best way to defeat an enemy is to make them our allay. We were well on the way to that when Bush left office. That is all down the drain. If we desert them, someone will be in there. It might be someone that you don't want there (Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia). It will spiral out of control to something that none of us can fathom. We are already having a nuclear arms race shape up in the region. Do we want to pile on top of it? If we don't stop this insanity, who knows where it leads to. The shame of it is it could have all been so easily avoided.
