Yes, the west Baltimore area is very bad. But violence bleeds over (pun intended) into other places in Baltimore as well. At night, when the feral youths hit the streets looking for trouble, the central city becomes a dangerous place, even in the popular Inner Harbor.

What a shame: if only the economy had been better, the rioters would have had more name-brand stores to burn.
Seriously, this had to be one of the strangest statements to come out of the Baltimore riots. On this evening’s Ed Show, Baltimore Pastor Jamal Bryant complained that because of economic “disenfranchisement,” the rioters “could only find one anchor store in that neighborhood” to destroy.
Apparently burning down the CVS store and a $16 million senior center that was under construction was not enough destruction fo ‘dem. Dey wants mo.

WEST ROGERS PARK — After a series of attacks and anti-Semitic threats, Jewish families in West Rogers Park have lined up their own security force of off-duty Chicago police officers to patrol the neighborhood.
Taxpayers PAY for police - - buildings, salaries, pensions etc.
Most of us get nothing in return.
Taxpayers pay so police can babysit the black community... the rest of us buy security systems (on our own dime) and form 'watch groups...
It's time for neighborhoods to be charged for the police service they actually USE.
If the guy across town leaves his hose running 24/7 because he's too lazy to go out and turn it off - MY WATER BILL ISN'T RAISED TO PAY FOR HIM.

Same here. Why bother getting involved when the mayor will throw you under the bus for offending or arresting the criminals the youth.
