1. If the crime is recent, claim that it’s under investigation and you can’t comment until a full investigation has been conducted.
2. If the crime happened a while back, claim that the accuser is dredging up ancient history and that we need to put this behind us and Move On. (See also, “get back to the work that the people elected me to do”.)

1. If the election is upcoming, claim that it’s for the good of the country to get behing the ‘chosen’ candidate even if that candidate has a record more left wing than the Democrat.
2. If the election happened a while back, claim that the speaker of factual information is dredging up ancient history by trying to prevent repeats of the mistakes and that we need to put this behind us and Move On so we can repeat the mistakes.
