Vatican appointee says gay sex can express Christ’s ‘self-gift’

ROME, May 19, 2015 (LifeSiteNews.com) -- Pope Francis has appointed radically liberal, pro-homosexual Dominican Father Timothy Radcliffe as a consultor for the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.

The Holy Father made the appointment on Saturday, according to Vatican Radio.

Father Radcliffe, an Englishman, author and speaker, was Master of the Dominican order from 1992 to 2001, and is an outspoken proponent of homosexuality.

"We must accompany [gay people] as they discern what this means, letting our images be stretched open,” he said in a 2006 religious education lecture in Los Angeles. “This means watching 'Brokeback Mountain,' reading gay novels, living with our gay friends and listening with them as they listen to the Lord."

In 2005, as the Vatican deliberated the admission of men with homosexual tendencies to study for the priesthood in the wake of the Church sex abuse scandal, Father Radcliffe said that homosexuality should not bar men from the priesthood, and rather, those who oppose it should be banned. ...

I too was skeptical from the start and he has done nothing but substantiate my fears— there is a new outrage almost daily. I never put a minute’s worth of credence in the mis-translation theory. This has to be intentional. Didn’t he himself say something after his election that the Cardinals might be sorry they elected him?

Lord, have mercy! Did he say that? I don't recall!

I'm on the same page with you. Either his words and deeds are intentional or he's delegating too much to others with a similar mindset/agenda, and in this case, they didn't give him all of the facts, which I find difficult to believe.

Then there's climate change! Obama insulted the Coast Guard Grads yesterday. The Pope plans to insult all of us in August, I think!

Keep praying.

And just what lay Catholic is qualified to determine that the election of the pope by the College of Cardinals is valid or not?

For that matter, when replacing Judas, they didn’t hold an election.

They claim apostolic succession but set up their own system for it rather than following what they consider Scriptural guidelines.

LOL! It's going to take more than some homopriest and his personal opinion (or that of a Pope) to get me to deny the Truth of the Eucharist and the Catholic faith. But then that's what a useless idiot of Satan does. Try to get Catholics do doubt their faith because man is imperfect....The only cult here is the cult of personality that is inherent in protestants who put their faith in men instead of Christ.

Is this going to be the new Catholic confession? "I wish I knew how to quit you"?

We have seen over and over again that there are quite a few FRoman Catholics who seem to think that they are more Catholic than the Pope.

So to answer your question, clearly the Über-Froman Catholics.

Pope names Fr. Timothy Radcliff consultor for Council for Justice, Peace
http://www.news.va/en/news/pope-names-fr-timothy-radcliff-consultor-for-counc

Not only was he appointed by Pope Francis as consultor
but he is Patron of the International Young Leaders Network, spoke at Youth Conferences such as Flame/CYMFED

http://www.cruxnow.com/church/2015/05/16/controversial-preacher-timothy-radcliffe-given-vatican-role/

Last year, Radcliffe was at the center of a controversy over his invitation to speak at the International Conference of Divine Mercy, Ireland’s largest Catholic gathering. The American television network EWTN dropped plans to cover the event because of Radcliffe’s participation. A host at the station called Radcliffe’s views “at sharp variance to Catholic teaching.”

You need to re-think what you are saying. You are putting man's doctrine and man's institution before Christ. Faith in either is foolishness, faith in Christ is the only way to Truth and Salvation. If the CAtholic Church has been compromised then it would be wise to come out of it. The Church does not save, Christ does.

“While you’re at it reading the Bible, try checking out your cult’s Catechism - CCC 841 and learn that the Roman Catholic Cult is teaching that Catholics worship the same false god as the Muslims.”

So that’s where “the Muslims worship the same God” is from. The Muslim god is not my God.

http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p123a9p3.htm
841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”330

I never saw Brokeback Mountain... does this mean I am going to HELL?

You know... this is just like the Muslim problem with "Moderate Muslims" owning the behavior of the radical terrorists that share and supposedly corrupt a "Religion of Peace".

Deal with the overt faggotry, pederasty, and graft by a progressively failing church, you Catholics.

YOU OWN THIS.

Excellently put.

I’ll be candid: while it’s possible that Pope Francis is a decent fellow (as a person), he is (IMHO) an absolute train-wreck as a pope. I don’t know whether his “train-crashes” are due to ignorance, naivete, a conspiracy of his advisors, or complicity on his part; at this point, I really don’t care. I just want him out.

I wish him well. I particularly wish that we were “well”, retired and abdicated, in some quiet monastery (under a vow of silence) somewhere, praying for the world and for his own soul.

But anti-Catholics, who never understood the Church of Christ from the very beginning, can’t be expected to know (or even tolerate people SAYING) that the Church of Christ is more than the sins and the personal errors of any given pope (or group of bishops, etc.). The office of Pope carries with it the protection of infallibility when proclaiming formal dogma, even if any given pope is too stupid (or sinful, as in the case of Alexander VI, and a handful of others) to obey or honor or protect the very truth which his office safeguards.

The pope could hypothetically fornicate twenty times per day, and force all his mistresses to get abortions, and (if he amassed enough influence) execute anyone who criticized him... and that still wouldn’t change the unalterable and infallible character of the Catholic Church founded by Jesus Christ, Himself (on St. Peter, as anyone who doesn’t have an interest in distorting the Scriptures can read, plainly). That hypothetical pope might have a particularly agonizing place in hell for all eternity if he dies unrepentant, but that’s a completely separate matter... since the Church is more than a mere sum-total of Her sinful members (even Her specific clergy and hierarchy members).
