Hours after a chaotic end to the 2015 legislative session, Gov. Mark Dayton said he wants to summon lawmakers back to the Capitol to fix an "insufficient" education funding bill. Dayton renewed his promise Tuesday to veto the $17 billion spending bill that had yet to cross his desk, noting it left out his top priority of universal preschool. That means lawmakers, who came within $25 million of a deal that didn't materialize before the end of the legislative session Monday, will have to come back to St. Paul in the coming weeks for a special session held somewhere other than the Capitol now under renovation.

Both Republicans and Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party members warned Dayton against using his veto power and urged him to sign the education bill they passed. It includes $400 million in new spending and policy provisions many educators support.

But Dayton was defiant Tuesday, criticizing House Republicans for standing in his way. Despite not having received the bill, Dayton has already sent House Speaker Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, a veto letter detailing its inadequacies.

So, Dayton will veto even though both Rs and DFLs agree on the spending?? He must think he’s Obama! I suppose he was elected recently and will still be Governor for some time? I will be interested to see if Big Minnesota Media will support the Governor or the Legislature.

C’mon, it’s for the children.

He doesn’t want them to grow up to be mumbling, stammering idiots.

Like him.

Is this libtard’s universal preschool requirement a payback to those daycare providers who voted against unionization?

I see what you did there, a little throwback to Gov. Turnbuckle, or as I refer to him, Gov. Thinskin.

Yep. I think even that jerk was better than Governor Goofy Eyes. Well, maybe not when I think of Chris Kyle. Gosh, this state has elected some despicable creeps.

This guy ran back to Minnesota when there was attack warning in Washington after 9/11. He left his staff behind.
