Speaking as a Christian, I can vote for our whole slate this cycle. Not one of them is a Romney, on morals, ethics and virtue. Not one. (At least not to my knowledge.)
On issues and opinions, sure— like noses, everyone has one. But to hand off a preference for the issues over Christian morality has proven to be a big assist to the butchering of innocent life, wiping out religious liberty and accommodating gays, against state rights.
Romney was a no vote for many Christians, who can not vote for his all-of-the-above record in Massachusetts.
It’s different this time, though of course some candidates are far superior to others.
For me, these things matter and they actually determine the kind of outcomes of the rest.
Same here - Carly has too much attachment to the “I’m a female” meme. Sarah is the real deal.
Oh, me too! Ouch!
I’d like to see that, personally, but for pure unadulterated debate prowess, my money is on Ted Cruz. Carly would get in some good hits, but doesn’t have the complete lineup in her repertoire. Cruz does IMO. He would utterly eviscerate Clinton right on the spot. She’d have to feign an illness because she and all her kings men couldn’t put a shine on that turd.
Meh.
Well, I respect your opinion and personal beliefs. I wish you well in your choice and that we all make the right one. But my determination against Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio is resolute.
The reason for Carly pulling out the “I’m female” theme is the answer to Hillary Clinton. Hillary is invested in making that theme the centerpiece of her own campaign focus, targeting women voters.
Carly is not doing the same for her health. She is taking it to Hillary and shoving it down her throat. (imho) :)
Left the destruction of HP in her wake? Good Lord.
You’re wrong, but you’re sure very nice about it. :D
She is a most impressive woman with balls, wwit, brains and an uncommon knack for using those gifts to bludgeon her opponents. I like her. A lot.
I believe you may be right, but in doing so, she has "stooped" a bit. IMHO, it would be better to simply tell folks that if they want to vote for a woman, do it because she's qualified and not because they find some allure with trailer park trash - wouldn't even have to mention Hillary and everyone would have no doubt of the target. It also puts Hillary in her rightful place.
Anyway, we could do worse than Carly, but we have a few better choices to try to boost before she becomes a real option.
I like Sarah Palin. A lot. But she is at least one sigma below Fiorina on the Bell Curve. I’m thinking 125 vs 150. Not two sigmas above Hillary and the MOTUS.
RE: She is a most impressive woman with balls
Shhhh... you are giving Bruce Jenner ideas :)
Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful response on Fiorina. I am impressed with her ability to talk, but if the words and actions don’t match, yup, we got ourselves another RINO masquerading as someone we want her to be. She has a track record as you have pointed out - Ignore at our own peril. How do we explain so many of the Tea Party-types who once they are in Washington prove what liars they are- Globalists, all but a few.
A few issues with Fiorina:
* We need a candidate that can win in the general. Fiorina hasn’t done too well winning tough races.
* A bit squishy on the homo marriage issue.
* Squishy on amnesty, says she doesn’t support it, but supported the “DREAM act”, so basically the same position as Rubio.
#3 is a disqualifier, for me.
I realize that does not apply to her - I am talking about how we get deceived by even those who were endorsed by the Tea Party (aka anyone for a Constitutionally limited govt.), and they are huge disappointments (except for a very few like my Rep. Justin Amash). Fiorina shows in her past record what she really believes. Now she, along with several other candidates, try to whistle a different tune. I don’t want to get taken in again.
I watched her up close and personal crash and burn here in CA. I was singularly unimpressed. Maybe she can do better Nationally. I tend to like her but way too much “foot in mouth” disease.
We’ll see.
“And as a vice-presidential candidate she brings nothing to the table.”
Well, she brings a set of ovaries. Doesn’t matter much to me, but that might be important to some voters.
