A grand jury indictment just takes a majority. Conviction takes unanimity.

Sure hope you are right. I don’t think much can be made of these indictments, since all they heard was the lies of the prosecution, unrebutted.

Why would anyone want to be a cop with these people running things?
You could not pay me enough.

In today’s 0bamaNation, what judge has the guts to throw these charges OUT? NOT A SINGLE ONE.
To: conservativejoy
That is why I see it being moved outside of Baltimore.

“I look for the charges to be thrown out.”
Justice is no longer blind. It has become politically correct, politically and color sensitive. Innocence is not a defense if the public (meaning those who riot and are offended) demand “justice.”

Hey, you get to shoot guns, drive fast cars, pull over anybody ya want anytime.. And ya qualify for a pension .. Sometimes even if ya go to jail.
What a career!

For some reason I have confidence that there are judges out there that are not going to play games with the criminal justice system. So I still stand on my position.

Meanwhile a white cop who worked with black youth was shot and killed last night in Omaha with hardly a mention in the media, yeah I doubt there will be any justice for her There has been plenty of media coverage of Officer Orozco's death. And, to the extent justice is even possible in an awful case like that, it has already been served (the thug who killed her was also killed in the same shootout).
To: DUMBGRUNT
A prosecutor can hold back exculpatory evidence. Usually they don’t because they hate losing cases. She probably went in with no exculpatory evidence.

Partial justice was served when her scumbag, gang member killer was shot and killed.

No judge in this jurisdiction is going to grant a motion to dismiss in this case.

Not in the Baltimore area. Look for the case to be moved to the state capital area.

One of the things I remember from the book, “Senatorial Privilege” by Leo Damore is that grand juries have a lot of independent power but usually don’t know that they do and are totally led by the prosecutor.

I cannot ever imagine working for a department that has so much contempt for me. Call me weird, but employers who I worked for were more like family.
