Millennialssoon to be the largest generation of Americans, surpassing the baby boomersare fleeing organized religion in droves. As a result, a generation of Americans is creating a national existential crisis. How can a country that regularly proclaims God Bless America, emblazons its currency with In God We Trust, and mentions God so frequently that it could make a secularist nauseous, survive if the largest demographic is indifferent toward the Almighty?
According to a recent study by the Pew Research Center, about 35 percent of millennials have no religious affiliation and thus are categorized as the nones. Approximately 56 million Americans are religiously unaffiliated, and the horde of nones grows steadily by the year.

This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it. ~ John Adams
I have been taught and agree that religion is what man thinks about God so the quotes would seem to be compatible.
Amen Popman
Yep. I included the first so that people don’t misread his meaning in the second quote.
Thank you.
I agree with your post # 26. I also have seen spirituality chat rooms where Christians are not welcome or tolerated.
John Adams Sr descended from Puritan settlers in Massachusetts and he was a Congregationalist deacon.
While the Puritans weren’t dour (they danced and they imbibed), they discerned themselves from many other denominations by insisting upon removing all Roman Ritual from their worship.
While this might be interpretted as removing religion from worship, technically some religious protocols are established by God in the Old Testament, e.g. protocols for the Priests and High Priests in the Tabernacle/Temple worship.
Religion isn’t necessarily sinful, but many sinful practices are religious. Removing God from religion simply places anothe god before Him and is blasphemous.
GOD and Religion are the same....
Can We Please Get Marxist Dirtbags out of "Journalism"?
Really? Name one.
“Interestingly, some far more secular countries have higher quality of life than us.”
Ok Dan. I’ll bite. Secular quality of life has nothing whatsoever to do with Christianity or the kind of “life” that is desired by a Christian that believes The Word. As a matter of fact, Our Lord told us from the beginning that if we follow Him, our earthly life will most likely not be good at all by worldly standards.
Quality of life means something entirely different to a secular minded person than it does to a Christian; as different as light and dark.
Anyone who said that when it was written would certianly be a fool. A certain and horrible death awaited them at the hands of believers.
