Florida International Universitys School of Journalism and Mass Communication in conjunction with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Center have developed a web app, known as the Sea Level Rise Toolbox, which helps Miami-Dade residents visualize the possible impact of rising seas in South Florida on their neighborhoods.
...."Our goal with our app is to inform residents of South Florida about the potential impact of sea level rise where they live, said Susan Jacobson, assistant professor of journalism at FIU and the web app project manager. We want to help our fellow Floridians understand sea level rise and how it may affect their community.

The “solution” will certainly involve funneling a whole lot of government largesse to politically connected greenies. Of that, I’m sure.
Florida International Universitys School of Journalism and Misinformation - - Fixed it.
Beautifully written propaganda claim from the US government:
http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/sealevel.html
...Since 1992, new methods of satellite altimetry (the measurement of elevation or altitude) indicate a rate of rise of 0.12 inches per year.
This is a significantly larger rate than the sea-level rise averaged over the last several thousand years...
"The Great Nebraska Sea is a science fiction short story by author Allan Danzig...
"The story begins with an account of how geologists in the mid-1960s came to understand that the "Kiowa fault" in the state of Colorado was actually part of a larger fault system running along the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains from Texas to the Canadian border. In the summer of 1973 the land east of the fault slips downward, slowly but inexorably over the next few months, until the major rivers of the region (including the Mississippi) flood the new lowlands. The process is slow enough for people to flee eastwards, though conditions become more and more hazardous as the flooding increases.
The story recounts how, during this time the various authorities such as the Federal government and the State governors, try to quell panic by invoking patriotism or, in the case of the governors, the stalwart nature of the people of the "great Southland".
However the next act of nature proves even more cataclysmic. The Gulf coast of the United States, from western Florida to Lake Pontchartrain, simply sinks below sea level. The sea floods the new lowlands from the Texas Panhandle to North Dakota. As many as 14 million people perish. The state of Oklahoma is completely lost, as are most of the Dakotas, Kansas, Nebraska, and Arkansas. The Ozarks become an archipelago.
There are tales of amazing escapes mentioned in the story, and of foolishness, as for instance when the governor of Kansas decides to stand fast and is wiped out along with most of his state.
Finally the country is left divided by a new inland sea, almost as big as the Mediterranean. The economy recovers, and the climate of the inner part of the country actually improves due to the moderating effect of this large body of water. The state of Wyoming becomes "a new Riviera" while Missouri is a "second California". Minnesota loses its famously Arctic winters.
The author comments wryly on the political fallout. The states which kept some portion of their land above water eventually demand their full representation in Congress, including two Senators each for several states which exist only as slivers of land.
Trade and commerce flourish on the new waterway. Eventually the new sea can be fished to great profit. The story ends with an optimistic view of a vibrant future in which "fleets of all the world sail...where once the prairie schooner made its laborious and dusty way west!".
If the NOAA rate is accurate and sustained indefinitely, it only amounts to a 1 foot rise over the next century. That doesn’t seem like much of a rise, and 100 years is quite a long time to deal with it. Who can predict what technologies will be available in even 50 years, much less 100?
Yep.
How many Florida homes will be under water in the lifetime of these readers even if the government’s worst claims are true?
There’s a limit to what the feds canmake up. That’s why the MSM goes to Al Gore or others of the worst kooks to find more alarming fantasies.
Because "rising CO2 levels" are unseen and thus not very scary, they need a more graphic threat, thus "rising sea levels".
The problem is that the "greenhouse effect" (GE) of CO2 is not linear, it is logarithmic, and most of the "GE" that could possibly happen as already taken place.
The Logarithmic Effect of Carbon Dioxide
"But the relationship isnt linear, it is logarithmic. In 2006, Willis Eschenbach posted this graph on Climate Audit showing the logarithmic heating effect of carbon dioxide relative to atmospheric concentration:"
"And this graphic of his shows carbon dioxides contribution to the whole greenhouse effect:"
I’ve lived by the NJ beach for some 40 years now. The tide level on the jetties and inlet wall looks about the same today as when I was a kid, so does the water level on the bulkheads and docks in the bay. Aside from an occasional storm, the only flooding is the tidal flooding in the usual spots.
Sorry kids, I’ll believe it when I see it.
I will go out on a limb and make my own prediction for Miami:
Within the next 2 years the ocean level will rise more than 5 feet. There, I said it!
That is, when the tidal surge of the next hurricane hits shore.
So.....the educated idiots are right...the sea level will rise.
Scientific American did ‘the maps’ about 30 years ago... According to those maps my house is already underwater...LOL - alarmists are such fools.
Has nothing to do with science either.
Shango Day After Day (It’s Slippin’ Away) Lyrics
Day after day, more people come to L... A...
Don’t you tell anybody, the whole place’s slipping away
Where can we go, when there’s no San Francisco?
Better get ready to tie up the boat in Idaho.
“ut let’s assume for the sake of argument that the seas could rise from AGW. What is man going to do to reverse it or prevent it? Except for stealing more money from my wallet, I have not heard any hard, specific answers.”
These are the questions I ask my lib friends.
1. How do you propose to fix Global Warming?
2. How much will it cost?
3. What happens if you overfix it and we go into an ice age?
4. What is the mitigation plan if that happens?
5. Why am I a racist for bringing the questions up?
I'm not a denier that the earth's climate may be changing. It has always changed. There is no such thing as static climate. But I'm a denier in believing that man has the wherewith all, both financially and physically, to come even close to altering the climate of this planet.
I’d shoot right back at them that I’d rather my kids live with no Florida than with the fascist tyranny that they’d impose to prevent that.
It’s accepting their premise, but also calling them on the consequences of their “solution”.
Nothing more than a money laundering scheme to payback his big donors with tax dollars. Climate change my ass. More like our money changing hands.
But good questions that, I dare say, none of them would be able to answer intelligently.
Yes Florida International University is part of the Forida public University system. I used to be an Assoc Professor there many many moons ago. It started out as an upper level university and then morphed into 4 years. FIU is the sister school to University of North Fla. in Jacksonville.

MSNBC is reporting “some scientists” say the Earth’s mass will double in size because all land will be under 100 miles of water!
