Car we got was a something 60. Engine kept shutting off at every light, scaring hell out of me. Was not bad on AZ interstates.

Locking the damn thing drove me crazy. Wife has a habit of testing the door handle to make sure it is locked, and the POS did not want to lock. I think we figured out you have to walk away a bit before it decides for you that you want it locked. Who thought up this crap?

All the controls were screwy for someone used to US and Japanese cars.

That was a proximity key. Mine drove me nuts till I read the manual. LOL.

Get within 3 feet of the car and touch the door handle and voilà it opens.

Best,

L

I remember a really cool sport-wagon based on that model. I “think” I recall one at least. Thought it was neat as a kid.

“I have been concerned that self parking and self driving car might not be able to recognize vampires.”

Looks like it recognizes bloodsuckers just fine...

From an insurance point of view...if my car is a self driving car and it hits someone why do I need insurance? I wasn’t driving. Shouldn’t the auto company manufacturer be sued for all damages and injuries?

I think the car did have the people detection feature. When the car hot the people, it recognized them and stopped right?

“I think that there may be a market for this.”

The market for self-parking Volvos that plow into lawyers would be MUCH larger, though.

“if my car is a self driving car and it hits someone why do I need insurance”

Well, you’d still want comprehensive insurance for hail, fire, theft, etc. Unless of course your self-driving car was a real shitbox.
