The logical response by the front line officers will be to stay in the station houses and their patrol cars, only respond to 911 calls and do that slowly and in groups. They may show up later and complete some paperwork. There will be a spike in murders and other crimes and officials will wonder why and spend even more money on new programs to make themselves feel good.

These matters of code of conduct, both private and professional, used to be policed (pun intended) by a class of Americans consisting by and large of engaged, educated & moral citizens.
As the years go by we are becoming less American, less educated, less moral and less engaged in civic matters. Thus, class envy and class warfare rules, making the finger pointing and blaming by the rabble rousing politician and community organizer all the more easy.
You seem unaware of all the facts in the case. 22mph chase at 100mph through Cleveland, after possible shots fired. The shots haven’t been proven as no gun has been found, but given 22 miles of winding through streets at high speed, probably pretty easy to ditch a gun. The guy was ramming police cars! Read the Judge’s decision. Many mortal wounds fired by various officers, not just the guy who jumped on the hood.
