Not always true. Western Europe is essentially post-religious. Their crime rate in many countries is well below ours.

I believe it was Author and Academician Charles Murry who pointed out that European nations have a mostly homogenous population; That comparisons of crime rates between Europe and the USA are false because they always leave out a very essential factor.

If you remove crimes committed by racial minorities from the list, the USA has a lower crime rate than does Europe. Indeed, young black males account for 3% of the population, but they account for ~40% of the rapes, robberies, murders and assaults.

They have many other problems that may very well be related to lack of religion, but criminality isn't one of them.

It isn't now, but we are still running on "momentum" from the time when we were a heavily Christianized nation. That is dissipating.

You should watch the video and see the man's point in the context of the rest of what he says.

FEMA camps to be activated by Sept. 2015. Those camps will be for the “refugees” from the inner city. The violent ones will be cordoned off and they will hope they fizzle themselves out.

Wonder if the next stop for the quarantined thugs will be the gas chambers?

No. Wait. Those are for us on the extreme right.

The 2016 elections will be the year of Law and Order, similar to 1968.

The electorate of 2016 is not going to be nearly the same as 1968. Browner, less religious, steeped in moral relativism. Filled with Millenials for whom the top issues are going to be Student Loan Forgiveness and smacking broadband providers upside the head.

Not nearly enough Jack Webb voters around this time, sad to say.

Yep, Detroit is probably the single most gun friendly large city in the country.

This started to unravel when the first federal welfare program was enacted that paid families with kids more money if there was no man living in the house.

BTW, that was a Dimocrat plan, I think in the early 1960s.

I agree. Those who blame all problems on Christianity are falling for the logical fallacy of connecting (often illogically) anything they don’t like to Christianity, while assuming all things they do like would have happened anyway.

I’ve noticed this is a nearly universal characteristic of liberals. Good thing (peace, prosperity, brotherhood) happen by themselves. Bad things (war, ethnic strife, famine) only occur because evil people, usually white straight Christian males, intentionally caused them to happen.

This is why they think they can keep tightening the regulatory screws without damaging the economy. Wealth just happens by itself, and all we have to do is split it up fairly.

Conservatives, OTOH, recognize what I believe to be the truth that bad things are the default, and good things mostly happen only because someone causes them to happen. Usually, historically speaking, straight white Christian males.

That’s essentially the basis for Sowell’s “Conflict of Visions”, which I can’t recommend highly enough.

I’ve read the book. I’m not trying to claim this insight as unique or original to myself.

But I am regularly surprised by how common this POV is among liberals.

If I remember correctly, TS calls the conservative POV the tragic vision. I forget what he calls the liberal POV.

Yes, but complaints about police brutality are way down.

Isn't that what's important?

Sowell refers to the liberal view as “unconstrained”.

That book made a lot more sense when I read it the second time with The Interpreter (Holy Spirit) looking over my shoulder.

It comes down to the questions of “who is God and who is Man”. Satan offered the “alternative” of “you will be gods”, and the left has followed that lie ever since.

Can you imagine what must be going through the heads of Baltimore police officers at this point? One wrong move and you could start a riot. One wrong move and you could go to prison. One wrong move and you could be on the front page of every newspaper in the country and be labeled the biggest villain in America.

Police should concentrate on protecting communities that are NOT black. Blacks love their criminals and don't want them bothere... so leave 'em alone.

"civilized people"

That would exclude the Black Underclass. The only thing the members of the BU respect, sad to say, is force. In the "evil" old days many members of the BU knew stepping too far over the line would be met with extrajudicial methods i.e. police brutality. That was the only thing most of them understood.

But now with the police handcuffed by liberal officials who excuse the criminal behavior of the BU, many BU members feel free to maraud, destroy, assault, and murder.

Maybe the bad old days weren't so bad after all.

"problems"

Read Mark Steyn's "After America." Europeans are depopulating themselves out of existence. Their gold-plated retirement systems are unsustainable due to lack of future workers.

That’s right. We humans, or those who are worthy, which is, oddly enough, those who believe this stuff, can remake the world to create a utopia.

They really believe this stuff. My liberal boss, who is otherwise a really great guy, believes that every policy must be be a win/win for everybody. I tried to point out there is no conceivable policy that’s a win for everybody.

For instance, I pointed out that policies that allow us to protect children against molestation, which just about everybody would be in favor of, are a lose for child molesters.

Baltimore should not worry their government has a plan. It is called “hope”. It comes with a nifty poster and bumper sticker.
