Indicted former House Speaker Dennis Hastert was paying an individual from his past to conceal sexual misconduct, two federal law enforcement officials said Friday.

One of the officials, who would not speak publicly about the federal charges in Chicago, said “Individual A,” as the person is described in Thursday’s federal indictment, was a man and that the alleged misconduct was unrelated to Hastert’s tenure in Congress. The actions date to Hastert’s time as a Yorkville, Ill., high school wrestling coach and teacher, the official said.

Now we know why this jerk covered for Mark Foley and helped bring about the Republican catastrophe of ‘06...

Hastert being a closet gay has been the rumor for years. He took his time in dealing with Foley.

There was a creepy call a few years ago in CSPAN when Hastert was still in power.

This Unnerving C-SPAN Call to Dennis Hastert Makes His Indictment Quite Interesting

President Bill Clinton took to the microphone, finger wagging, face red, and issued a denial that he would soon come to regret. "I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky," Clinton famously declared. What...you found a dress...

LOL

Could have been a trifecta, if he hadn’t kept up with the blackmail payments:

Gingrich - ethics problems, resigns as speaker, replaced by:
Bob Livingston - zipper problems, resigns as speaker, replaced by:
Denny Hastert - seems he too had zipper problems.

Then why is this just coming out now. Another distraction for the sheeple?

I am Shocked

Who among us didn't jump to this conclusion when the indictment was first announced?

I’ve wondered that too. A distraction - for what reason?

I don’t know what else went on in his life, but as Speaker of the House he was ineffective, directionless, and largely RINO to the extreme.

It continues to fry my a$$ that for several years the Republicans held the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives - and still managed to get virtually nothing done. And this Bozo was at least part of the blame.

Hastert was indicted for anything sexual or inappropriate relationship.

CHICAGO – Federal prosecutors on Thursday charged former GOP House speaker Dennis Hastert with illegally structuring cash withdrawals from bank accounts to conceal payments to someone he committed "prior misconduct" against and lying to the FBI about it.

While their behavior is disgusting, let’s not forget where these stories or most of them very well may have been started.

Right after one Hillary Rotten Clinton got access to over a 1,000 Raw FBI files on her and her husband’s detractors.

Doesn’t excuse any of it, however one wonders what the landscape would look like if the dirt from the RATS were aired.

According to the description from the video linked in FR thread post 17, “(The indictment said that Individual A had started meeting Hastert in 2010, and Hastert started making payments to that individual shortly thereafter.)”

Hastert was Speaker from 1999 to 2007.

Wipipedia.org: “on November 26, 2007, Hastert submitted his resignation, effective at 10:59 p.m. Central Time that day, to Governor Rod Blagojevich of Illinois.”

he should've just let it go public and denied it

That never works. He should've let it go public and recognized that his gig is up. I have a lot of trouble with phonies who campaign for the social conservative votes as upstanding moral Christians, when in reality they're scumbags. I have no trouble about someone who's honest about their past....as long as it's the past.
